Came here last night for a round of cocktails with my fiancée. First off, the ambiance was amazing!! It had a very contemporary kind of look. Chandeliers, leather coaches, lots of candles.The drinks we had were not great. We got the Sophia’s Old Fashioned and the Espresso Love. The old fashioned was ok, just not balanced. It was very sweet. Personal preference, I use only .5 - .75oz of simple ratio syrup - even less with a semi-rich or rich syrup. They did use clear ice, which I’m an absolute sucker for. The drink itself was visually appealing. There was way too much syrup in the drink. As for the Espresso Love, it was pretty bad. I’ll get into that in a sec.Now the service was good. We weren’t greeted by our server at first for a while. But in all fairness, she apologized and couldn’t see us from a taller gentleman being at the next table over. She was very kind and service was much faster after she greeted us.We did mention the issue with the Espresso Love to the server. She took the drink back to her team, and found the new bartender used Bailey’s. It got taken off and she again apologized about it.Overall, this is still a cool place for a round of cocktails. Based on the service I got, I have no doubt that the drinks will be better next time.

I loved the mysteriously dark, romantically vintage and seductive vibe this lounge gave on a Saturday night. It was classy and elegant while also being down to earth and approachable. This is a discretely sophisticated lounge, hidden in plain sight, in a prime Uptown location. The surrounding city nightlife is vibrant, but Queen "Sophia" enveloped me in her ambiance embrace as soon as I graced her entrance steps, and walked through her doors. The place was beautifully and tastefully decorated with stunning candle light and had ample seating options without feeling crowded. You can sit at the bar and watch sports or lounge on a sofa or in a custom accent chair with a table for intimate couples, social gatherings or solo acts (like I did). I much appreciated the late opening hours, dress code, and the ability to reserve a table in advance. The staff was all around lovely and attentive and provided great hostess, dining and drink service. (The macaroons were very nice! Merci beaucoup!) I typically don't drink, but did treat myself to a delicious "Your Highness" that was excellent. As someone who prefers being low-key and often needs to escape the noises of life, I desire the arms and neck and hands of Love, but can appreciate upscale and mature surroundings like this where I can luxuriate in for hours and hours and hours. Moreover, I loved the private evocative atmosphere that allowed me to dream dreams, see visions, and imaginatively delve into Fantastic Things where I Have Nothing. "I dream my painting, and then I paint my dreams." - Vincent Van Gogh. This place was the perfect night cap to a full day of performances (Message In A Bottle and Charlotte Symphony's - Rococo Theme Tchaikovsky and Brahms Symphony No. 1), and just what I needed, but didn't experience, on recent travels. My weekend trip to NC was wonderful, I'm growing very fond of Charlotte, NC as it reminds me of my other favorite city, Pasadena, CA. Merci Encore, Queen Charlotte!

Shady tip practices. Get an itemized bill! I didn't, and after adding my generous tip to the automatic 22% I was never informed of, I left a 50%+ tip for subpar service.Drinks were good. Cute place. Can't recommend.Update: I made an addition error on my credit receipt that led them to charge me an additional $120 tip rather than the $90 I had written. I have never worked in a restaurant that allowed me to take an addition error in the server's favor when a tip amount was clearly written. That made a $211 tip on a $323 bill, for subpar service. Check receipts at this establishment!

We had a reservation at 6pm on a tuesday. After we got our first round of drinks our server never came back to the table to ask for our order or to check on us. We had a 7:30 show we were going to. It wasn’t very busy. The food runner eventually was the one that checked on us and took our order. I was very disappointed in the service. This was unacceptable from a place like sophie’s and we ended up purchasing way less than we would’ve if we were actually taken care of.

Good drinks and atmosphere, however servers are rude and after two drinks brought us our check and stood over us until we signed and left. Extremely disappointed in the way we were treated. Will not be back, do not recommend.
Due to the many events uptown, our server informed us that they were out of nearly everything on the menu. This was very disappointing, and we felt that we should have been notified before arriving so we could have made different arrangements and tried this restaurant another time.
