My coworkers & I were staying at a hotel next door for a training & ate here for dinner after a long day of driving. We ordered a few rounds of drinks, all of which were delicious. For dinner I got the meal of the day it was amazing!! My coworker got the shrimp & grits and fell in love. Yummy southern gulf food it’s in the name ?‍♀️?

We had a wonderful experience over Easter for my mom’s birthday! Halo took excellent care of us and has an extra ordinary skill, he treats you as if you are family! Definitely an experience to remember!! This restaurant has a spectacular feel and decor with a very unique menu something for everyone! Brunch is highly recommended!!! Located in Phillip’s Place nice feel, clean location, hot fresh food, and extra ordinary service!! Thank you to the manager Jessica, Halo, and the entire crew at Southern Pecan that keep things five star for everyone! We appreciate you!!

Very generous Service, food and ambience! It was a glorious day to sit on the patio, as the weather is perfect. We started with a Belgium waffle and it was light and crispy dusted with powdered sugar and a little pot of warm maple syrup. It was amazing! And the Beet & Goat Cheese Napoleon: Roasted beets layered with goat cheese mousse and pecans was delivered in 4 tiny densely packed towers. We could have done without it really as our eyes were bigger than our stomach;( Our entrees were a shrimp poboy with fries and Southern Fried Steak: Pounded beef tenderloin, breaded and pan sautéed with homemade cream gravy, pole beans and mashed potatoes. Both super generous portions enough for a second meal! On the receipt there was a coupon for a discount for which we will be back!! Tony, our server suggested $6 Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. We took him up on the Bloody's which were spicy and kicked with horseradish! Perfect Sunday brunch!

I had been looking forward to trying this spot. The last time we tried the earliest tea we could get was like 9:00 - so we figured that was a good sign. Daniel was our server and he was amazing. His service and the cocktail I had were the best parts of the meal. The cornbread - for a table of three we got two pieces. I'm not sure how cornbread could be kinda gummy and dry at the same time - but it was. One piece was kind of "overdone" like it was cut and then "toasted" to reheat it. The catfish strips were really well seasoned. I ordered the Brussels as a side - they were deep fried and unseasoned. Weird. I asked for roasted sweet potatoes as a replacement - flavorful but a little underdone. The others had jambalaya and the chicken under a brick. Both commented that the food lacked seasoning - salt in particular. The smoked bourbon mule was YUMMY! I also had the key lime pie as a take home dessert. It was good.

My daughter and I have been looking for a restaurant that isn't your mainstream restaurant and she found The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. The decor from the outside is different than the inside as it gives off a southern vibe but also a western, blues, jazz, country style decor. That's not bad, it's just not consistent. The customer service here is very good; our waiter was attentive, professional and personable. So let's get to the food, I ordered the Oven Roasted Flounder but was able to get it fried with sides of grits and collard greens. The entire meal worked very well together as the flavor of the fish matched the grits and collard greens. I was very impressed with everything. The atmosphere at the time was very relaxed, laid back and comfortable. There weren't many people in the restaurant but I think that when they are at full capacity, the atmosphere will still be nice. Overall, I recommend The Southern Pecan for the food, the atmosphere.

Walter was our waiter and he went above and beyond service wise for us.Our anniversary is coming this week and although this dinner was not meant for celebration. He sure made sure we had a celebration anyways! Food was great as well!Would definitely recommend to anyone
