Exploring the world one plate at a time! Sun’s Kitchen 老孫家 is a hidden gem for traditional Chinese cuisine—no General Tso’s or Sesame Chicken here! The menu is packed with authentic dishes, and we’ll definitely be back for more.
We kicked things off with the Dim Sum Flight, featuring pork buns, shrimp dumplings, siu mai, and xiao long bao—the dumplings stole the show. We even tried chicken feet (shock factor aside, they were actually really good!).
Next up, the Skewer Flight: lamb, beef, broccoli, tofu, fish cakes, and mini sausages. The broccoli and beef skewers with spicy seasoning were our favorites. We also got a squid skewer, and wow—probably the best thing we had.
The Dumpling Flight was a standout—each wrapper colored naturally with veggie juice. Flavors included pork & chive, beef & carrot, chicken & mushroom, veggie, and shrimp & chicken. Handcrafted and packed with flavor.
For something different, we got the Beef Stew Rice Bowl—hearty and delicious. Washed it all down with classic jasmine tea, which was super refreshing.
Sun’s Kitchen is the real deal for authentic Chinese flavors, and we’re already planning round two!

These dumplings are my new bar.
The takeout is presented well. The oil, put in a microwave safe container at home, heated to temp & poured over recent dan dan noodles in a hot oil safe container is a great meal to eat at your leisure throughout the evening.
Separately, the northern wonton was a soup of choice after getting sick recently from a boo.
& I hope to patronize the establishment with company soon.
🙏
10/10, I wish I had discovered this before.

I could live off of their Dan Dan noodles and green beans for life, actually. The man who also brings out the food most days is very nice.

Nice and hip restaurant that serves northern Chinese cuisine. The dumplings are their specialty. I personally liked the beef carrot kind the best and my wife liked the chicken and shrimp the most. Overall the flavor is mild which is perfect for us. Will definitely come again!

Stopped for dinner while in town for a show and was hoping for authentic Chinese food. This definitely hit the spot. The Dan Dan noodles and Sai Do Si (peanut butter sandwich) were my absolute favorites, but everything we tried was good. I'd probably skip the dumplings just to leave room for other things. Definitely plan to come back and try more of the menu!

Interesting place to say the least. The portions are pretty large so unless you are getting a rice bowl or noodle bowl make sure you have people with you. I came here solo and was unable to finish my food. The eggplant was pretty good but it was a large large portion (which makes sense it’s like $13+). The tornado potato was pretty interesting too. I will say there was one seasoning in all of the food I tried that I didn’t exactly like. Maybe it was cumin or something but I was not a fan!
If you aren’t too adventurous, steer away from the fish cake. I think I thought it would be something different.
Unfortunately the flavored teas were out of stock. But the green tea was still great.
Also the service was spectacular, especially for a full restaurant!

The dumpling flight was a great option for an indecisive dumpling lover like myself. They give you 3 of each type of dumpling—15 in total—for a very reasonable price might I add. I got the cilantro garlic dipping sauce and my only critique of that is that I just wish they gave you more than one sauce for 15 dumplings. The pork & chive, shrimp & chicken, and beef & carrot were my top 3 out of the flight.

We loved our lunch here. My wife and I stopped in around 1 p.m. on Saturday. We had the dumpling sampler, cumin lamb, and classic jasmine tea. It was good. The lamb was flavorful with a good spice. All of it for around $40. We can't wait to come back for the beef skewers.

Sun's Kitchen was every bit of AMAZING!
The food was delicious. We have a variety of items. The Cumin Lamb, Pepper Chicken, Veggie Dumplings, Assorted Skewers, and the Mango Splash were the best. We will definitely be back. Brian was extremely nice and patient.
