The Brickyard

This place definitely has a “townie” vibe. Explains why there’s literally not a single woman in there on a Wednesday night. I know Charlotte isn’t a “party every night” town, but most bars have a decent crowd, especially on a warm night. Bouncer didn’t even greet me or crack a smile while checking my ID despite my doing the same, and there was no bartender in sight. Admittedly he/she may have been in the restroom, but the overall vibe made me turn heel and leave pretty quickly. A lot of reviews on here about women feeling unsafe and I’d believe it.

The guy with the red beard kept “checking on me” in a way that made me super uncomfortable. Will not be going back.

Bouncer threw my buddy on the ground as we were leaving. He went to the hospital. He was drinking but not making a problem.

This is the best bar! They have darts and the staff are very efficient and kind. The bouncers keep people safe and the bathrooms are cleaner than most South End bars. My friends and I have made some great memories here!

Typical sports bar honestly. Nothing fancy.
They had a DJ that frankly was just too much for the atmosphere.

Wings were just ok, not crispy or saucy. I ordered hot and they were mild/medium at best.

Parking was an absolute joke.

This place is fun. It’s exactly what you need in a highly populated area. No stuffiness, come as you are, type atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming! And they still do live music, not just typical DJ’s. There is no kitchen, so don’t come hungry, but if you are, there’s plenty options around AND they let you bring food in. Did I mention how great the staff was? The bartenders were energetic and engaging. I love this bar! Great job!

Whoever was hired to DJ this passed saturday- gave me everythinggggggggg. This was my favorite bar at the bar crawl!! my friends and i kept coming back because the other bars were lame. We ended the night here. The bartenders was TAKING IT HONEY!!! 10/10

Great staff and great environment.

My friend had a horrible experience here. She stepped near the door to wave my friend over because she was alone inside, she had a cigarette in the other hand extended into the patio. A bouncer immediately started cursing at her, then grabbed and pushed her backwards with his hands on her arms and chest. She told him repeatedly not to touch her and that she wasn’t going inside, she even dropped the cigarette but he ignored her said he didn’t care and that she needed to leave. Another security guard joined him, and both of them continued to grab and push her all the way past the gate. Even after she asked if they could check on her friend, they refused. She was completely violated and unsafe. There was absolutely no reason for two grown men to be so aggressive and physical toward her.

This space is a waste is of money. The bouncers are a pathetic joke who think they’re doing their part but are really ruining the nights of people attending. The bald gentleman with glasses doesn’t deserve to see another job the rest of his life. Pathetic service:
