Good acoustics, quiet and classy! Good food! Cocktails could be larger but wonderful place! My fav in Charlotte!

Came after a matinee at the Blumenthal to celebrate my birthday with friends. From the minute we walked in, the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. Our server Staton was exceptional — completely familiar with the menu and specials, as well as the wine list. Never intrusive, he provided personalized service at every turn. I loved the Waygu filet, which was perfectly cooked as requested. Started with a cup of lobster bisque, lots of lobster meat, a bit thicker than I might've liked, but I still ate every bite. We all shared the potatoes au gratin, mushrooms and creamed spinach. Other guests had the porterhouse (recently returned to the menu), and the filet. The Bearnaise sauce accompanying the filet was excellent. All in all, a really nice night out at Capital Grille!

Excellent food and service. Peter, our waiter, was fantastic! Definitely cannot go wrong with The Capital Grille!

Shrimp cocktail was delicious and worth it, scallops also delicious. Got fantastic service from our server, didn't rush us. Great evening to celebrate our 56th Anniversary, with a complimentary dessert.

Our server, Denice and the staff were all amazing. Denica was very knowledgeable, attentive and personable. The food this evening lacked flavor (seasoning): 1) calamari, lobster risotto and lobster bisque. 2)sea bass (not on my check, which the birthday girl seated with me had). Dinner was quite the opposite from my experience in June ‘24. We had a very large party celebrating a friend's birthday, and not one person had a complaint about their dishes. Everyone raved about how flavorful and tasty each appetizer and entree was. It was a bit disappointing to travel from Charleston and have such an underwhelming experience. I have been thinking and raving about the food since last summer.

An outstanding dining experience. The steaks were exquisitely prepared, tender, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet welcoming, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. A true pleasure from start to finish, and certainly a place I look forward to visiting again.

The Capital Grille has always been a top notch steak house in Charlotte, NC. And the restaurant still is quite beautiful inside. The service was excellent but unfortunately the food was disappointing to say the least. Maybe ok for Longhorn or Outback Steakhouse but you would always expect to be pleased with the steak you were served at the Capital Grille. It would never need to be returned to the kitchen. After returning the first filet, which was full of fat and very difficult to cut, even though it was to be prepared medium rare, the next one arrived and it was not much better. By this time my husband had finished his meal and we were not a happy couple. And by the way , we were celebrating our Anniversary! All this for only $150.00!!!! We won't be back.......

Jose was a terrible server and left us with a very poor experience. We have dined at Capital Grilles all over the country and have never experienced such poor service. Our reservation was at 8:45 pm. We were not greeted until 19 minutes after being seated. Jose was rushed and pushing to place orders and when asked if he can course out the meal so we have enough time to enjoy our salads and appetizer, Jose replied that the restaurant is closing. I stated well we had an 8:45 reservation so we should still be entitled to enjoy a meal without being rushed. Jose said he would do what he could to make it the last meal but the kitchen is closing. This made us feel very uncomfortable. I would have went to a different restaurant had I known that the server would rush us through our dinner. This is not okay and does not meet Capital Grille or Darden standards. Jose needs to receive proper training on how to engage with guests. Our salads arrived first when salad always arrives before the meal. Our crab cake appetizer arrived while we were eating the salads. Not a great experience. Our entrees came out while we were still eating salads. I would love to have gone to any other restaurant in Charlotte that can properly course a menu and provide top level customer service. My entree came out wrong as I had ordered the surf and turf special. There was no lobster. The server who delivered it did not know anything about the order and had to go find Jose. Jose came back with an explanation saying he forgot to place the lobster order. How is this possible when I ordered a specific entree that was a special? The lobster took very long to come out and arrived when I was nearly finished with my steak. The lobster was presented poorly and curled tight, dry and lacking and sense of a fine dining experience. I had to order another glass of wine from a secondary staff because Jose did not check back. What a huge disappointment. I will be contacting Darden leadership to share this experience.

My friend's steak and asparagus were good, but the colossal shrimp cocktail appetizer was very fishy. Since that was what I ordered for my meal, I could not eat. Not sure if it was bad or if I was just sensitive to the strong smell. I did not return the order; however, I told the server about it. She just shook her head, as if she understood what I was saying.

This was our first disappointing experience at The Capital Grille. We were seated beside the kitchen — a spot I didn't even realize existed, since we've always sat on the other side of the restaurant. The constant clatter of dishes and kitchen noise was overwhelming, to the point I had to remove my hearing aids because it was unbearable with my sensory issues. Unfortunately, our server, Denica M, only added to the frustration. She frequently turned away as if ignoring us, and I had to ask for basic refills like water and wine — something I've never had to do here. At this level of dining, attentive service should be a given, and guests should never be left thirsty. The food itself was as excellent as always, but ambiance and service have always been the reasons I chose The Capital Grille for special nights. This time, both were absent. Instead of a refined, relaxing evening, our anniversary was filled with clanking pots, dropped dishes, and inattentive service. We'll likely try La Belle Helene next time, because sadly, what once set The Capital Grille apart — impeccable service and atmosphere — feels lost.

We had a party of seven people birthday celebration. The food was amazing and our waiter Peter was wonderful. He gave us wonderful service with a sense of humor. He is a great asset to your restaurant. We plan on visiting again . A special shout out to our bartender Mario B . He had a drink at the bar , before dinner. Drinks were delicious. All in all it was a lovely evening.
