The best place to hang out in my opinion. The bartenders a super friendly and they make this place special. Chilled water is served with every alcoholic drink you order, to keep you hydrated. The drinks taste great and to top it off, the music was was fantastic. Loved it. Highly recommend!!!

A bartender at a different bar down the street recommended The Cotton Room to me and he was 100% on point because it gave me the industry dive bar feel that I was looking for. The spirit selection was incredible and the space is definitely intimate but perfect. Shanice is an amazing bartender and super hospitable!

Climbing up the stairs and opening the door to find this cozy place made it feel a bit like a speakeasy. The bartenders were friendly and very knowledgeable, and our drinks were impeccably made. The atmosphere while we were there was very relaxed, which was a stark contrast from the boisterous bar down below. With a menu filled with great choices (including several mocktails, which was the reason we chose to come), awesome bartenders, and a chill vibe, this place is worth a visit.

Maybe the most underrated cocktail bar in Charlotte. I've never had a bad drink here whether on or off the menu.
If you're looking for cozy location to have a nice stiff drink, look no further. Located in the alleyway - second floor - The Cotton Room is nice location is great location to catch-up with a small group of friends or just have drink at the bar. The bartenders are amazing! I made a special request regarding one of my drinks - although out of the norm for them - they had no problem with my request.

Always quiet and cozy & amazing cocktails!
What a great place! My thanks to Thomas for telling me about The Cotton Room. And Brad for sharing his knowledge of Rye whiskey. At one point, I thought I was keeping those young men from closing up and going home. They explained that as the night goes on, the crowd files in. It did. Many young people enjoying craft cocktails. Those bartenders know how to mix. And the bar is well stocked. Great Irish whiskeys. Good rye. Quality mixers and a plethora of bitters! A shake of walnut bitters can enhance a whiskey or rye. And they have the big ice cube so your drink is chilled without getting watered down. Cotton Room is the place. Try it your next night meandering through Uptown Charlotte. It's upstairs from Belfast on Brevard Alley.
I went in there and just hung out. My friend accidentally spilt a drink and I got blamed and kicked out the bar. I asked what I did wrong and they couldn’t answer. I genuinely was worried if I did something wrong. But they couldn’t answer me straight, told me I was cut off and too drunk when I barely had any drinks. I was there with my GF and told me I was making girls uncomfortable when I didn’t talk to anybody the whole time there. They grabbed security when I was hanging out in the corner talking about sports. I think they are racist and prejudice and I’m not just saying this. I mean it. I don’t know it, was madly frustrating. I’m usually a nice person and accepting but this was so odd to behave like this to me.

Fantastic gem with some history and great drinks
The Cotton Room was a pleasant surprise, especially for a first-time visit! We stumbled upon it while exploring The Alley and decided to check it out. I’m sober, so I didn’t try the Guinness, though I’ve heard it’s highly recommended. Instead, I ordered a mocktail, and it was surprisingly delicious.
The venue is a bit small, but it has a cozy, intimate vibe. As a party of three, we were able to find seats without an issue. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d recommend it for a casual and unique night out!
One of the top dive bars I have been to. If a local had not suggested that I go there, I don't think I would have found it. It is wellworth searching for it
Great speakeasy style bar. The bartender Thomas was awesome, all his drinks were amazing. Loved the vibe.

Great place for a proper pour of Guinness. Tucked away upstairs to the former Latta Arcade, you will be transformed into a European pub feel. Great selection of spirits. It's very small and I would avoid this place if there is a soccer game. Unless that's your thing, you will probably enjoy the vibe. Cheers!
Vegetarian options: Isn't Guinness a vegetable ?
Kid-friendliness: It's a pub, take your kids to Chucky Cheese please
Wheelchair accessibility: I don't think they have an elevator, stairs only.
