The Degenerate

Finally stopped by the place after passing by it for a few years, Yesterday me and my girl simply wanted a quick burger, which we ordered The Degenerate burger and and Chicken burger, the Flavor of both were amazing! It was much better than i was used to from local Noda bars. Thanks Christian! Friendly and helpful staff. We will be back!

Unique and delicious dishes and drinks, friendly staff, and has a shared parking lot! Nice place to enjoy a meal and have a good conversation. Was not noisy!

Delicious house made grenadine Shirley temple. Less syrupy more flavor.
Vindaloo tacos are good - would be fun with a sauce on it.
Wings are breaded and yummy - eat them sooner rather than later, they soak up the sauce and lose the crisp. Their hot sauce is good too, vinegar base but different than normal.
Bread pudding balls - amazing different textures and flavors. Crispy than soft. Rich and finishes with a hint of orange. Very fun!

Favorite place to get breakfast. Eggs Benedict with home fries is soooo good. Bf gets the sausage biscuits and loves. We’ve had dinner here too. The SALMON 🤤🤤 was cooked perfectly… the polenta cakes, baby Spinach, beet yogurt with the crème fraiche is amazing. All the flavors go together so nicely. Now the wings…. Wow. The BBQ is crazy good.. they r hand breaded and perfection. I don’t care for the regular buffalo version of them though, maybe they weren’t as done as the BBQ. The bbq has a tangy sweet sauce that’s so good. Sam has been all the times we’ve gone but once and we just love her. She’s so sweet and very attentive. We always receive great service here. There’s another server with dark hair, woman and she is great also. They couldn’t be any nicer. We take our dog and everyone is always so sweet to her and they keep out water for dogs. Perfect spot to get brunch on Sat/sun and lunch/ dinner.

Such an amazing experience! Visited on a Sunday around 12:30pm and pleasantly surprised to find it empty and no wait. Located in Noda, I for sure thought it was going to be busy. Either way, upon arrival, we were sat immediately. Samantha was our waitress and she was more than efficient and friendly. Gave great recommendations and even brought stuff over that we needed before we even had to tell her. Place in general has plenty of seating with a big open floor plan and even outside seating for those nice sunny days. Ordered their regular drip coffee and OMG. It was so delicious and strong. Exactly what I needed. Got their steak and eggs. Steak was delicious and their grits *chef's kiss* so delicious! French toast were nice and fluffy and we had no complaints. We will definitely return to try other items on their menu. They do have parking in the back of the building and also side street parking.

Had a quick dinner here before a show at Neighborhood Theatre on a Sunday night. Every time we've eaten here, the food has always been great. I had the banh mi tacos and tandoori carrots last night and both were really good. The tacos were stuffed full with the meaty and veggies and the carrots were cooked well and had a nice kick. My wife had the burger quick was huge and was seasoned really nicely.

Do not fall victim to the Grandma’s Whoopie Pie hype. The only good thing about it was the cherries on top. It was dry and completely flavorless… I had multiple people around me try it and everyone was like “it tastes like nothing”.

However, the service and ambience was nice. The cocktails are good!

Absolutely love this place. First time here and we had great service and the food is amazing. My favorite eggs Benedict in Charlotte. Bf had the gravy biscuits and loved it. We took our dog with us and they have water for them on the patio. Sam was a great server, so nice & attentive. I found this place off Reddit and we are making it our new brunch spot. Heading back to try their wings/salmon.

Update: 2nd visit

Another great experience. The salmon was so good. Such a big piece and cooked perfectly. The wings are DELICIOUS. We got the BBQ flavor and were so happy. They r cooked perfectly and very crispy, and the sauce is tangy. Bf got the burger and liked it. Our server was really nice and attentive I wish I had got her name off the tab so I could add it. Will be returning for brunch on sunday

Came here on a brunch date and it was pretty good! It was a busy Sunday, but we immediately got a table. Food took about 25 minutes to come out after we ordered, but it tasted great. Their menu is unique, but I wish they had more non-alcoholic drink options tbh.

I live within 10 mins walkable radius to this place and somehow I never tried it. We decided to try their brunch on Sunday. It was delicious 😋. Quantity, quality of service and food are just great. Trifecta 👌 I heard their cocktails are great as well. Haven't tried them yet.

The atmosphere at the Degenerate was pretty chill. Our waitress was really nice. The food was good. I ordered the Breakfast Tacos and tried some of their wings. Depending on when you go, parking can be rough. The price isn't too bad for the location.
