We go the St Louis style ribs. They were nuked and piping hot to the touch but the fat was not rendered inside. They leave the membrane on their ribs which I don't care for at all. Not much flavor. The collards were really great and the sauces were pretty decent! Service was good and the restaurant was clean. Just disappointed that I paid about $40 for $15 ribs that weren't any good.

I usually don’t write reviews but this was just TERRIBLE!! The food dryer then sand and don’t even get me STARTED on the sweet potato fries and regular French fries, how are you a RESTAURANT and mess up French fries AND burgers?? This place is downright shameful and then it’s absolutely empty to the point staff stares at you like you owe them something and the atmosphere is terrible because it’s no other people just you and employees which is awkward. the server was cool though and the price is ABSURD for such dry food, collard greens SPICY?? How that even happened and then my I bought my grandmother and she said “just cause something dry rub doesn’t mean it gotta be dry”. We left disappointed and NO we aren’t returning!!

What a fun place for a meal on the weekends. A very good menu, with very tasty food at a great value. They often have light live music on the weekends, which makes for a very passable family experience.

First time. Last time. Service was great, restaurant was clean. Pork roll appetizer was good, nothing spectacular, sweet tea was very nice, not too sweet. Bao bun plate one of the worst we've ever had-brisket tough, pulled pork and chicken were fine, but the slaw was overpowering and the buns were old and cold. No pillowiness to them at all. Almost stale. And the collards were still crisp and had stems (the thick bottom stem), definitely needed a better trim and more cooking time.
Very disappointed, glad this was not the only reason we came to Charlotte.

I like the fusion BBQ meals on the menu, although I feel you needed the sauce to really have flavor. The meats were very plain. The sides, however, were amazing. Decent sodas. A bit pricey but service was solid. This is a bit far for me to visit regularly, but enjoyed it overall. I'd recommend the hush puppy appetizer to share, anything with pickled onions, the sweet potato casserole, baked beans, and the mustard sauce as my favorites.

The meat and the service are the game changers. Sides are okay.
Had a meat platter with brisket and sausage, sweet potatoes fries and slaw.
Joleen was our waitress and she was excellent. Happy hour was in effect until 6 pm!

My wife and I ate at this place for the first time and really enjoyed it. I had the Improper Platter with brisket and pork. My wife had the Fern Bowl, which is mac and cheese with your choice of meat, she chose brisket. The food was great, came quick, and was fresh.
I also wanted to applaud our server, Cassandra. She is excellent. She is knowledgeable of the menu, attentive to our needs, and a pleasure to meet.
If you have not tried Improper Pig before, I reccomend you give them a try. The bbq is not to smokey, but just right. And the service was excellent for us.

I unfortunately was not very impressed by the improper plate. I got smoked brisket with slaw and sweet potato fries.
The brisket was very dry with the exception of the fatty pieces. The slaw also seemed a day old or so, it was very dull in color and flat on taste. The seet potato fries though were great!
The service was fine, nothing special, not bad. The atmosphere was very blah, it just felt like a generic southern restaurant without a lot of soul.
I don't know if I went on an off day for brisket, but I certainly wouldn't bother ordering it again. Overall, it wouldn't be my first pick, plenty of other places in the area.

Not often do I see a barbecue restaurant that can combine Asian fusion in BBQ and also nail the Carolina style vinegar BBQ sauce. The pork roll with the tony Thai sauce surprised me! Can’t go wrong if with the 2 platter if you’re asking to eat big. Will be coming back again

I really enjoyed this place. The nachos are amazing. I also enjoyed the ribs and the sweet potato fries . The pork and sausage were both tasty. The brisket was the only thing I did not care for. I enjoyed all the different bbq sauce bottles on the table as well.

Great service, enjoyed the meals, and the manager came by to invite us back. Thank you!
Our server Veronica was the best part of our time here. She was nice and attentive without being overbearing. Food was good esp. the ribs.

I loved the food and the people were cool my only wish was that there was more food.. I ordered an appetizer and it wasn't a shareable size in my opinion I had thier house made pimento cheese and it was fire.. I told them I'd been making grilled pimento cheese sandos for a long time
