The Local Reviews
Bouncers are douche bags , they only confiscate drinks from people entering so they can drink them on the front patio in front of you ( check your cameras ) one of your bouncers is top flight security of the world but please make sure Craig is around because he tried fighting me twice over a difference of opinion . Your bouncers are douche bags who never got attention in school . Vet your help better because what you have ain’t it.
My group and I came down to Charlotte for a Pride bar crawl. The Local was our second stop and easily one of my favorites. Drinks were yummy. Vibes weee good. Cedric, with security, was amazing. It must have been a full moon because there were so many folks out, acting up and being unusually aggressive. Cedric made our whole experience 10x better. I’ve never felt more safe at an Uptown spot. Thank you CEDRIC and The Local for being a fav along the crawl route!!!
Super crowded and not always the best crowd. You’re bound to get harassed by someone creepy when you go. Personally - I stay away. As a woman, I don’t feel comfortable going there - not my vibe.

The Local is a lively dive bar known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Located uptown, it offers a casual dining experience with affordable prices. The chicken Caesar wrap, wings, and Moscow Mule are popular menu items. Despite its small size, it can get crowded, especially after football games or big events like Pride celebrations. The beverage selection is reported to be satisfactory, and the bar has a nice vibe that makes it a great place to hang out. The staff is generally attentive and friendly, though service can sometimes be slow or inconsistent. The bar is appreciated for its good music, which helps create a relaxed mood. Overall, The Local is highly recommended for those seeking a laid-back bar with food in an uptown setting.
