Acoustics are awful; Impossible to speak to a person sitting across from you at a table on a Wednesday night? Annoying that you had to order food and drinks at the bar and while your food could be brought to your table, you had to stand and wait for your drinks. My date and I joked about how it would be such a bad spot for a first date while we were there. Food tasted good until I tasted it in vomit form within an hour of leaving the restaurant. I had the grilled cheese with turkey and a tomato spread and one drink that day, their blue mojito. I had no other issues with food that day and have no food allergies. Will not return

I really struggled with whether to give a two or three star review overall because I understand there is a big game today and places are busy. But there is a difference between being distracted and Intentionally being rude-which is what my friend and I got on our lunch break today. We work right down the street on 5th Street and tried lunch here for the first time. The young server/bartender girl with black hair was rude-and it was more than obvious that it was Intentional. First she acted as if we were bothering her when we asked where/how we order there (it's order at the bar and sit where you want, ok, great but you would think we had spilled a drink on her by the way she acted when we asked). Then after she gave us menus, we examined them and then we patiently gave every signal that we were ready to order. She very purposely ignored us until another server (Kat or Cat-not sure of spelling, who was actually pretty nice) asked if the other lady had helped us. When the rude server/bartender brought my food she tossed it in front of my friend who said very pleasantly, "that's actually hers" referrring to me, but the rude server ignored her and walked away-and yes she heard her because she paused for a split second and then walked on.The nicer server- Kat or Cat (unsure of spelling) brought us condiments and refilled drinks and turned out to be quite nice so I do want to give credit where credit is due. Also the food was actually quite good, especially for a place that bills itself as a 'dressed up dive bar' so that's why I gave the food 4 stars (I got the Buzz City Cheeseburger and my friend got grilled cheese with fries). Also, it was nice to have lunch outside on the sidewalk during our lunch break. It was loud but I think that's part of the vibe so good on atmosphere as well. In spite of this my friend and I did have a pleasant lunch together but I'm not sure I would go again given the intentional rudeness for no apparent reason whatsoever.

The first day I went, the beautiful tall blonde bartender was really great and nice. The second night I came in, there was another bartender, short, very thin with blonde hair, and didn't have the greatest attitude, and had a smart mouth. The DJ could also play better music. Overall, the bar itself is a nice place to hang out.

The food is pretty good, drinks too. Service is good but sanitation sucks. They don’t wash their hands, found a hair in my food, my friend found 2 hairs in her drink. I like this place but it kinda gets worse everytime.

My boyfriend and I have TRIED SO HARD to come here at LEAST 6 times this year. Everytime we go, the kitchen is closed and we end up not being able to go. Such a waste of time. There are plenty of bars that don't LIE and waste your time by not updating the kitchen hours/ closing it whenever they want to. While the food may be good, I would never know.

We were in town for the Iron Maiden concert, and this bar was PACKED. The atmosphere was cool - the walls and tables all have writing from patrons on them, which was kinda neat. The food selection wasn't that great (typical bar food) but I highly recommend the sweet potato waffle fries. Yum! You have to place your order at the bar, and they bring you your food. The music was too loud - we could barely hear one another. Pretty good beer selection, too. I recommend this place when it's not so busy.

I enjoyed the all the sweet treats The Local has. Everything looks baked on site. They were busy when I got there, so the customer service I gave 3 stars for is because the staff were not very friendly. I ordered a drink and wasn’t directed where to get it. Turns out it’s in a fridge case and the sodas are sold by the can. No cup of ice. If that is an option I did not get. The French onion dip sandwich was served hot and had good flavor. It was an ok sandwich. The baked goods is what you’ll love. Mini pecan pies, macaroons and little tartlet looking deserts. Those were all very good.
