Original Pancake House - South Park

Service extremely slow!
I tried to place an order over the phone and was told they just accept orders online or in person. The item I wanted is not available online so I went in person and it took them nearly 40 minutes and a ton of excuses to finally bring my order out.

I was told they were having issues with some items of my order which I don’t believe, probably someone forgot about it… I asked to be refunded and just leave I had somewhere else to be plus I was informed my order should take just 10/15 min, at first otherwise I would not have ordered it.

The manager refused to refund me and made me wait a little longer. I’m so annoyed with the service and with the lack of professionalism. It’s better to not offer certain plates than offer this bad service.

That was my first time there, and believe me, it was the last one too.

I don’t blame the front desk girl, however, the kitchen and management need some adjustment and step up their game on customer service.

Great food, updated look inside looks fresh and bright, and service was wonderful as usual. No wait! New server Travis did a wonderful job today and was so friendly!! I had the California omelette with feta cheese - pancakes on the side and coffee. All was delicious.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars on this visit instead of 5 is because of sanitation - my water glass was dirty, it had small white particles stuck to the inside that I picked out to confirm what I was seeing. Also, the salt and pepper shakers were both wet and sticky with what looked to be jelly/jam. Dirty on the glass sides and the top metal piece. Other aspects were clean- the table itself was perfect and not sticky at all. These things are normal in a diner type restaurant, but this is just such a Charlotte staple restaurant that I know they can do a little better! 😊 The busser seemed to be working super hard, I just think the attention to little details would go a long way. Great job overall!

My family and I tried eating here this morning. We arrived and there were only 8 tables filled. We were seated and no one ever came back to take our drink or food order. We left after 15 minutes of no interaction from the staff. We drove 3 minutes down the road to First Watch, we were seated and had coffee within 2 minutes of walking in the door.

I debated whether to stop here or go somewhere else for lunch/ breakfast based on my last visit here I was skeptical. But it was not busy and only had 3 tables so I thought my service would not be an issue. I had just come from a medical procedure and hadn't eaten at all that day and my glucose was low. I sat down, waitress came over and took my order which included coffee. Not sure where she went to get the coffee, maybe Hondoros? I waited kind of a long time for the meal to come out and when it did, it was luke warm at best but the English muffin was absolutely not toasted. It was flat out cold. This tucked. I was willing to eat the eggs cold but couldn't with the English muffin. So I looked for the waitress and she was nowhere to be found. By this time, I have to get to a meeting north of Charlotte. I asked another server to find her. She found her and told her I needed her and it still took a while for her to come over. When she did I said the English muffin is cold can I get a toasted one? She said yes and took my plate. Ugh. I needed to eat something to get my glucose up.
While waiting, I thought she would at least offer me coffee. Nothing. I waited longer for the toasting of the muffin than the 1st time. Now I'm running late and I can't find her to let her know that I have to go. There's only 3-4 tables occupied in the place so I found about 2.75 of change for the coffee and left. As I was walking across the parking lot, she yelled out the door that she was having a whole new breakfast and she was clearly passed off. I was walking back and said I only needed a toasted English muffin and now Im running late. She said something rude and went back inside. That's it for me and this place. I thought service would be better when its not busy but this just took it to a whole different level

The Original Pancake House just lost a loyal customer. As an RN working 12-hour shifts, quality matters to me. For 6+ months I ordered the apple pancake every weekend without issue. Today, I get barely a forkful of apples on the entire pancake. When I called, they told me to come back. The manager then insisted, “that’s how it’s supposed to be” and refused a refund, despite me scraping off the measly tablespoon of apples right in front of her. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Everything I've eaten here has been delicious. I'm obsessed with the pumpkin pancakes- all year long. We ordered the happy face pancakes for my baby and she loved them too. Service is a little hot or miss and it's loud inside, but the food makes up for it.

Great breakfast spot! It was our first time eating here and Alma did a fantastic job providing recommendations and was very attentive. Highly recommend the Pancake House!

Had breakfast at The Original Pancake House in SouthPark and it was excellent! Alma was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I ordered the chocolate chip waffle with bacon, eggs, and grits. It was delicious! Highly recommend this location and definitely ask for Alma if you get the chance.

Love coming to the original pancake house! Alma was an amazing and knowledgeable server. Her service alone was enough to keep coming back!! Food was also really good!

The food here is so comforting and good. I liked the hot chocolate a lot, and the service here is so nice. The place is crowded, like if you go on a Saturday or Sunday morning there will be a wait time.
