Was in Charlotte for a concert. Not many places open near our hotel for late night food & the Public House was suggested. This was my second visit here. There was a short wait to get in and then told to select our own seat. We were handed menus and instructed to go to the bar to order anything. Staff was friendly & bar was decently busy. The place is cute with nice outdoor seating. Giving a three star only because the food was subpar for the price. I did appreciate there being water available though, as a lot of people here seemed a little intoxicated .

The name of the restaurant, the requiremts to sit and eat, the demeanor and tone of "Mr Charlie" as he approaches in an unfriendly tone with undertones of authority in his voice. First, the name: "Public House" sounding synomous to Public House in Charleston or Savanah where slaves were sold and auctioned....doesn't give a warm or welcoming feel. Then, I was asked for ID "papers" even to sit and eat. Sure, if we are getting drinks, then asking for ID is understandable. Not so much to sit and eat. I eat in several local restaurants daily, and not once have I had to show ID to enter and be seated. This request is unfound to be a practice among other local and high-end restaurants. I did not feel comfortable or welcomed there. After such request, my friends and I left. At that, Mr Charlie did not say "thanks for coming," or "Come again ," or " Sorry for the misunderstanding." or anything that would draw me back....

We came in on a Thursday at 10 pm, and it was dead, but only for a short while. There were no table service, I appreciated them telling us we needed to order at the bar; thus, we sat at the bar. The bartenders were wonderful and very helpful. Their old fashions were awesome. It was nice to find a place that knows how to make them. My partner got the wedge, which he really liked. I got the parmesan chicken sandwich, recommended from the bartender, and fries. That sandwich was or as he called it . It was amazing. I wish I hadn't shared it with my partner. It was so good, I woke up thinking about it this morning. The fries were also REALLY good. They had the perfect seasoning on them you didn't even need ketchup. Overall, this was an awesome place to eat I would go back here in a heartbeat. Tip : after 6pm parking on the streets near it is free.

Really upset with my experience here. Absolutely horrible customer service. We ordered the chicken dish and the chicken was barely cooked. We asked kindly to send it back so it can get grilled more. They said sure. They chicken came back out and still looked the exact same. So we then asked to get it taken off our bill because we were grossed out. HE then said “no, we don’t do that here”. Which is weird but whatever. So then we were trying to explain. And he kept interrupting us and being completely rude and disrespectful. At that point we just wanted our chicken grilled more and blackened. He told us no and walked away. Will never come back here. Absolutely insane. Over a piece of chicken. The disrespect was really displeasing. Horrible customer service.

Even and Whitney were amazing. We started at a table and loved to the bar and was treated very well. Drinks, food, and customer service was amazing and everyone as friendly. I had a small issue and even and Whitney came to the rescue and made sure we was good again. Come visit and show support. Good food, good music and easy

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great. Me and my husband went for our anniversary. They treated us like we were special. The staff were very involved. A man named Russ even gave us a champagne drink and toasted with us!! Will definitely go back!! Might go today!

In town for a conference and was happy to find a casual spot that wasn’t a chain. They had a great outdoor area that is perfect for nice day. Large draft beer selection and delicious food! Get the Bulgogi Wonton Nachos!
Great food. Great service. Tons of beers on tap. Lotta one star reviews on here from people that don’t like the fact that a good restaurant gets busy.

This business is located next door to Middle C Jazz Club which I patronise monthly. This makes eating before or after the show ideal.Filled by locals, a diverse crowd, with good hours.Our favorite foods are the orange salon with asparagus, or there Smash Burgers and chips. Staff is friendly and works hard. In warm weather we enjoy the seats at the on street bar.Give this place a try for a casual time with friends.Parking: After 5 pm parking in the Wells Fargo bank lot in same facility as the restaurant is only $5.

The staff was AWESOME, the checking ID's at the door, the Bartenders, the DJ each and every staff member that we came in contact with!!! AND The Harvey Wallbanger that we had!!!! Woooooweee!!!! I can't wait to go back!!
