I’m writing to share some feedback regarding a disappointing experience we had at your Charlotte University location during my son’s 9th birthday party on May 4th, from 1–3 PM. What should have been a fun and memorable celebration was unfortunately overshadowed by a series of frustrating and confusing interactions with three different managers. During the event, we were approached multiple times and told we would need to pay an additional $10 per adult who was there simply to accompany their children—not to golf. First, we were told this was because we hadn’t disclosed the number of guests upfront and would’ve needed another bay. Then, the explanation shifted to a supposed “fire code” violation. When I politely asked to see that in writing, the manager became visibly frustrated and walked away. A second manager repeated the fire code reasoning, and when my husband calmly asked questions to understand the situation, he was shockingly accused of being aggressive and “following” the manager—when in fact, he was simply trying to get answers. This accusation was not only false but incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. All of this disrupted more than 40 minutes of the two hours we had reserved and paid for. It was stressful, embarrassing, and took both of us away from enjoying the celebration with our son. We also spent a significant amount on additional food and beverages during our visit, so we felt blindsided by the chaotic handling of this situation. The third manager who finally approached us was the only one who handled the matter with kindness and professionalism. He explained that it’s a Topgolf policy to limit bays to 8 additional non-golfing guests—not a fire code issue, as previously stated—and simply asked that some adults rotate between the bar and patio areas. Had that been explained from the start, we would have gladly complied without issue. I hope this feedback helps your team better communicate policies and treat guests with more consistency and respect. We chose Topgolf for a joyful day with friends and family, and unfortunately left feeling disappointed and disrespected.
We had our company Christmas party here. Wonderful spread of food with a server and bartender. Fantastic place for a company party. Staff was wonderful. This was for the Molly Maid managers party. Thank you, one of the best experiences I’ve had at a business.

The atmosphere was awesome and everything was clean. The food came out in a decent time and was hot. One of the employees, Tyrone Fenner was his name; he was funny and energetic; with lots to say and info about Charlotte.

Disappointing Experience at Topgolf
I recently visited Topgolf and had a less-than-pleasant experience. Despite reserving two bays for 9 people, I had to cancel one bay, and only four attendees showed up. I was initially charged a $75 deposit, but at the end of the night, I received an additional bill for $218 (with a military discount). The total charge of $293 for four people seemed excessive, especially considering we did order food and beverages.
While the food and beverage service was decent, the billing issues and poor communication from the staff left a sour taste. When I called to inquire about my deposit and the billing discrepancy, I was transferred twice and didn't receive a clear explanation.

Ace and Carson were amazing with their service. It was my kids’ first time and they really made our night. Thank you again!! We will definitely come back!!
My last visit I did get drinks and the spiked strawberry lemonade and it was sooo tasty!!

the whole booking process is so messedup.. i ve visited there on tuesday and booked on the app.. by default it selects 2hours and it auto assigns the bay. we were offered the 1st floor which we hate and we were told that we cant change it once it was assigned. we felt like the walkin process is much better than booking online.. i was completely diassppointed with the bay auto assigning.. i wouldnt come here again.

I have been to Top golf locations all over the country and they are good at providing the same great experience each time. My only issue on this visit was that not all of the fans were either not on or not oscillating.

Manager Robbie committed to the rules & regulations of not allowing leftover hot food to leave the premises. While I can appreciate the purpose of rules, this food had already been purchased by the place of business that I was attending Top Golf with. Please be mindful, to all local businesses, of said rules when scheduling events here.
