Tora Sushi & Bar

This is #1 top sushi I've had . Coming from a Japanese heavy environment, Atlanta, to Charlotte this food and service was AMAZING!!! I hope to come back .. soon!!!

I stumbled into Tora after a long 10-hour work shift—exhausted but craving a good meal. I’d driven past this spot countless times, always curious, especially since the space had housed a few different restaurants over the years. As a sushi lover, I finally decided to stop in—and I’m so glad I did.

Tora is located off Morehead, right off Exit 10. They offer garage parking in the back and even validate it, though I ended up parking on a side street. I entered through the patio, where I ran into Dias, who was on a break. He immediately opened the door for me and kindly asked where I’d like to sit. The hospitality started from the moment I arrived.

The decor instantly impressed me—modern, warm, and stylish. The patio has a charming view overlooking the street, which I loved. Since I was dining solo and planned to take some food to go, I chose to sit at the bar.

Dias handed me a menu and took my drink order. He also crafted one of the best lychee martinis I’ve ever had—fresh, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. For appetizers, I ordered the Spam musubi—something I’ve always wanted to try—and it did not disappoint. I’m a big Spam fan, and this was delicious. I also had the miso soup, which was rich and comforting—definitely something I’ll be ordering again.

By that point, I was already feeling full, but I stayed for a couple more drinks. Adi took over at the bar, and he was just as warm and welcoming as Dias. I truly felt so taken care of throughout the night.

For my takeout, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, upgraded with fried rice—and I’m so glad I did. The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor.

Tora has officially made it onto my list of go-to spots. Whether it’s a date night or a girls’ night out, the ambiance is immaculate, the service is top-tier, and the food and drinks are unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

Felt like I was transported into a different world the moment I took a sip of my old fashioned!
The sashimi was really fresh in my opinion!

I had a wonderful experience here. The restaurant has a seating option to sit near the open ended portion of the restaurant which faces the Main Street and it nice to see the world from your table. We ordered the sushi rolls and they were delicious. The Yuzu Sake was the perfect choice for someone like me that LOVES a sweet drink. The Creme Brûlée is one of my favorite desserts and they hit the nail I the head with the recipe. Thank you for the great service Emmanuel!!!

Flavorful rolls and appetizers - especially fond of the ceviche. Great service and when the weather is nice there is a wonderful breeze through the restaurant

The food didn’t have much taste, but it was creative menu. Spicy tuna was…oddly sweet? We got the bulgogi fries too. They were good but the fries had no salt. Service was slow and not attentive. Two stars for the atmosphere and the fantastic outdoor seating. A good one time try but never again.

The food is great. The place is nice. However the service not so well. They have two patio and I guess they just didn't want to serve outside anymore and I was told I couldn't go outside but I had my dog so that was not good. I have eaten here serial times and food is good

The food is amazing and reasonable price. The staff is courteous and takes the time to explain any questions you may have on the menu. They also validate your parking, which is a plus. Awsome place over all.

Great place to grab sushi and drinks. Our favorite part was our amazing server, Dias. He made the nights one we’ll never forget.
