Okay I’ve been to all the coffee shops in the area now. This is the best one.

I met a friend here to catch up over coffee. Parking can definitely be a challenge, though I lucked out and found a free spot behind the shop. It fills up quickly. There is also limited free street parking if you happen to find a space, or you can pay about $6 to $12 for an hour in the large lot next door.
The atmosphere is really the highlight. The space is clean, comfortable, and a great place to chat with friends or settle in with a book. I did, however, have a run-in with one especially self-important city-goer in line—the kind of person who seems to believe the universe (and the barista) revolves around them. Seems to be the majority of their customer base.
As for the coffee, it is not as strong as what you might find at other shops in the area, but it gets the job done.

Ordered sausage breakfest sandwich, bread was burnt and didn’t have the aioli on them. Also ordered a cortado with oat milk, which you pay extra for and they just didn’t add milk.

They have couches!! Love comfy seating. And their fall drink menu is immaculate. I got the Black Forest latte and I've never had anything quite like it. So great. And how cute is the breakfast sandwich!? Great vibe inside too.

I fear I dream about their grit bowl, with bacon and egg and that tomato goodness. So much yum. So filling. So perfect. Truly. Go try it.
The people behind the counter are always kind- even if the place has a line and tables are full.

Undercurrent Coffee is an adorable coffee shop with limited indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating. Its a quite busy coffee shop considering the area. If you can snag a seat its cozy and a little noisy from all the chatter. Pricing is fairly reasonable even for their seasonal flavors best of the time of year. All in all, its a nice little coffe shop to work at, catch up with an old friend or grab a drink and go.

Excellent atmosphere, and the outdoor seating is beautiful. Just stick to the coffee — it’s delicious! Please don’t order food (maybe just the parfait)

Very good vibes. Good outdoor seating and absolutely great coffee. Exactly where you should come if you are looking for something bit more “artisan”.

Super cute, love their matcha! If you want something savory, ask about their quiche of the day!

Loved the vibe of this coffee shop so much. Everything felt so cohesive and intentional with the decor and overall vibe. The coffee was also one of the best I've tried in Charlotte, imo. Very espresso forward with amazing flavors, but not overly sweet- perfection. 👌 Definitely coming back!
