I felt like I was a tourist in Chicago while eating this sandwich. The sandwich was full of Italian beef and tasted awesome. I would highly recommend this spot for authentic Chicago style Italian beef. This gem is located in one of Charlotte's many food kitchens for small business restaurants so its strictly take out. But you won't be disappointed.
The Italian beef sandwich was quite good and on par with the ones I’ve had in Chicago (been to several places there). The bread is definitely the same as they use in Chicago as well (thank goodness because the bread can make or break a proper beef sandwich). Fries were very good, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Something to be mindful of is this place is not a typical restaurant. Rather it’s inside the Southend Eats building shared by multiple restaurants....
My search to find a great Italian beef spot in Charlotte is over. Mike was extremely personable and friendly when we called to inquire about the menu. Everything from the freshly baked bread, to the tender Italian beef slices, to the hot giardiniera , was excellent. I’m looking forward to making Wrigley’s Italian Beef my go to place when I’m missing Chicago style food.
