My son Roman came here with a friend, and while we were in Charlotte running errands the day before New Year’s Eve, I told him I was hungry. He said, “Mom, you will love YAFO Kitchen.” As a top Google Guide & Contributor with over 233 Million views, I’ve eaten pretty much everywhere, but I have to say this: the food here is incredibly tasty. Every bite is packed with flavor, and the toum (garlic spread/dip) is to die for! I grew up near Detroit, and my mom would frequent the best Mediterranean restaurants, bringing home carry-out on a weekly basis—so I know good Mediterranean food. During this visit, I introduced myself to the GM of YAFO, whose name is Drex, and told him how much I loved the food & especially the toum. He then introduced me to Alfredo, the chef. It was nearly closing time, but we had a great chat. I told them both that I can’t wait to bring my husband, who is the ultimate critic—he had both a Lebanese and a Greek grandmother, and the food in his household was insanely good. I know YAFO will impress him. The best part is that I had so much food in my bowl (I ordered the chicken shawarma with multiple toppings, including tabbouleh, and my son had the falafel) that it was enough for lunch the next day. And let’s talk about the pita bread that came with our bowls. I have never had such fluffy pita in my life. To my Google viewers: I hope this place doesn’t get too busy to the point we can’t get in—but seriously, just go. Trust me!

Tried Yafo for the first time on Saturday (12/27) and could not have been more impressed!! Food is amazing - fresh, bold and deliciously flavorful. The chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had and every component of my bowl (as recommended by the young man and young ladies preparing the bowl) was delectable. Five stars to the staff as well - they were all friendly, super helpful and seemed genuinely invested in ensuring that my family and I had a fantastic dining experience. Restaurant is immaculately clean and stocked. Will absolutely return!

The individual preparing my order, Andayzia, made all the difference. She was so sincere with her generosity, I believe it made the food experience exceptional. Andayzia carefully and patiently helped me decide what to place in my bowl, was so knowledgeable and very specific to my vegetarian dietary needs, and put such care into how she places things in the bowl to make everything look fabulous. It makes a world of difference. When you eat the meal, everything is scrumptious. Like a bouquet. What a pleasure. I will definitely come back for this.
Also, I ended up adding a drink and two sides when I had questions (all my choices were Andayzia influenced), and she was spot on, all absolutely delicious, clean, and nourishing.
* As a final side note, it was a 1000% better experience at this location than when I did take out at the Plaza Midwood location. Whoever puts together your plate can directly impact the mood of the meal.

The food is fresh, and delicious. The wait in line was not bad at all.
Cauliflower is the bomb. I never knew Cauliflower could be so good. The nice brown char with the bold seasoning. I might go back to get some more today.
Their other foods are good too but when they toasted bread and the tortilla wrap they burned it. I endured but my son couldn't. They happily remade it and burned it again. If they can only perfect that brown charred grill marks before it burns it would be excellent. So close.

I really wanted to like this location because the food itself is actually good, but the service has been consistently disappointing. The employees seem to rush through orders with zero interaction, which makes no sense when there are barely any customers in the store. Any time you ask for an extra side or an additional item, they act like it’s a burden.
One individual in particular (possibly the manager) gives you a look like you’ve completely inconvenienced them just by ordering. It creates an unwelcoming atmosphere that makes you want to hurry up and leave instead of enjoying your meal.
Great food, but the customer service really takes away from the overall experience. Not sure I’ll be returning unless things improve.
