Yafo Kitchen in Charlotte is a fantastic spot for anyone who enjoys fresh, flavorful, and wholesome Mediterranean-inspired food. The restaurant offers a modern yet casual dining experience where guests can customize their meals with a wide variety of options. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels inviting and relaxed, with a clean and vibrant design that matches the energy of the food they serve.
The menu centers around build-your-own bowls, wraps, and plates, giving you the chance to pick your choice of base, protein, toppings, and sauces. Popular favorites include the falafel, chicken shawarma, and lamb kefta, all seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The spreads, such as hummus, baba ghanoush, and tzatziki, are creamy, flavorful, and taste incredibly fresh. The roasted vegetables and pickled toppings add a delicious balance of textures and flavors.
What sets Yafo Kitchen apart is the attention to detail in quality and consistency. The food feels both hearty and healthy, making it a great option for lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful, guiding first-time visitors through the menu. Overall, Yafo Kitchen in Charlotte is a must-visit for anyone craving bold flavors and a satisfying Mediterranean dining experience.

Went here to get a quick pick up lunch. Not one single person greeted me or the woman next to me and we were the only ones in line. An older employee was obviously struggling with an order and no one helped her out. I felt sorry for her. the other employees (one I learned was the manager)- were more interested in giving each other high fives than talking to the customers and completely ignored us. I finally had to ask if this was where we ordered as I have never been here. . I felt sorry for the older lady and one employee finally helped her (the manager ignored her and didn’t do anything). When I asked the difference in the chicken the “manager” didn’t even respond but took the ladle out and showed me each like it was a huge hassle for him - speaking down to me the entire time like “this is this chicken- this is that”- arrogant jerk. horrible customer service- not helping his employees or the customers. Food was great- service sucked. Manager needs to go to a training class.

Unfortunately quite a bad experience... Food was fine. But servers had unpleasing attitude. In a customer facing field, this kind of behavior is totally unacceptable and sad to see.. they certainly need some cultural and diversity training.

I have been thinking of leaving this review about my experience last Friday, September 5.
The workers are rude who threw it together like slop and have no clue how to interact with customers let alone people in general probably. There is a previous review on here about them acting like it was a prison and this is accurate.
When asking for extra spreads, sauces on side etc it was an issue. Even when I said I would pay extra. They said I could only have one inside my meal, okay that’s weird, and only proceeded to give me another on the side when I said I’d pay. Which is fine but it was unnecessary the way they communicated. What they should have said if they had some training is “Sometimes it gets too full with more than one spread but we’d love to get you another one on the side.” Not look at me like I was asking them something obscene like I’m crazy.
My meal came with a side, but I asked to purchase an extra side of Mac and cheese at the end (which is where they are at anyways and the last thing they do too) and was looked at like I was crazy. I proceeded to try and make conversation to lighten the mood that I was thinking in my head that my son would probably like to try it after school. The worker just looked at me with no reply, threw the Mac and cheese together (again like slop and they hate their life) and told me my total. I was not offered if I’d like to purchase a beverage. I paid and left wondering why I thought this restaurant would be a good idea for lunch. Will not return and will tell people to avoid. Any Cava location is better than this.

The employees were absolutely rude; they treated us like we were in a prison cafeteria. I asked for extra sauce, and the employee threw it in my bag.

The food is excellent, and the area is lovely. However, the portion sizes seem to be decreasing. The family meal, which is advertised as serving three to four people, might now only be adequate for two, or perhaps three at most. The quality was satisfactory previously, but it appears to have changed since 2025.

Website said they had grilled lamb as a protein option but they didn't when I came. Otherwise, food was decent.
