I went out to celebrate my cousin’s birthday, and while the food and atmosphere were top-notch—as they’ve been on my previous visits—this experience was incredibly disappointing.
I had come here before and loved it, which is why I recommended it to my cousin. Sadly, that turned out to be one of my worst mistakes. Our server, Kenneth T., was extremely rude and unprofessional. Keep in mind that I’ve worked in the service industry my entire life, so I know what good service looks like—and this wasn’t even close.
From the beginning, we felt rushed. Kenneth came over and told us we had to be out by 7 PM. Our reservation was at 4 PM, and although we were about 10 minutes late, there was no reason for us to be treated like we were on a timer. We were seated at a cramped table meant for eight people—even though there were nine of us. Not ideal for a birthday dinner.
To make things worse, we were charged a $15 cake fee that no one mentioned. We were told they had to take the cake away instead of letting us keep it at the table, and not once were we informed that we would be charged for it. That kind of lack of communication is unacceptable.
The server also pressured my cousin into ordering another bottle of wine and repeatedly asked my aunt if she wanted to order—over five times—despite her clearly saying no. It felt like we were being upsold and not actually cared for. Throughout the dinner, we were largely ignored. Kenneth would come by, stare at us awkwardly, but wouldn’t ask if we needed anything else.
On top of all that, the heat was unbearable. We were seated next to a window with direct sun, and there was clearly a more comfortable table available in the shade that we weren’t offered. For a place that calls itself fine dining, not having proper air conditioning or even being mindful of guest comfort is unacceptable.
Overall, this dinner felt rushed, uncomfortable, and stressful—when it should have been a celebration. I genuinely regret recommending this place to my family. Management should really take a closer look at the service and hospitality being provided, because this was far from a quality dining experience.
Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. However, i was disappointed for such a nice restaurant to not offer filtered tap water. It's such a small detail but very important for such places.
Food was good. Waitress Sydnee G was horrible. May have been the worst service I've received in my life. I am cashing out as we speak. We had a large party so she automatically received a tip. She was so awful. Ask for anyone but her. Food was good though.
What an exciting surprise and venture out. If you love to explore new food fusions and creations, then take yourself here. We went as a foursome - and were able to order a lot to share and taste. Everything was amazing. Fresh. Fun. Well explained by the staff, perfectly coursed out to maximize our time and enjoyment. I've never had better service, these people work hard and they pay attention. I loved it!
Really cool experience! Loved the ambiance and our server was very attentive and took time to explain and recommend us dishes. Yunta balls were fabulous and so was the Poseidon crab dish, but my favorite was definitely the potatoes paired with the filet mignon skewers.
Been there twice. We wanted to make sure the great experience we had the first time wasn’t a fluke. They definitely delivered on the yunta ceviche was mind blowing and out of this world both times. Also got a recommendation from the waiter and went with the verde tiradito. Amazing dish as well. I can’t even express how good it was. The other food we tried was good don’t get me wrong. The scallops were good the loma steak dish was ok but I wouldn’t order it again. I will be coming back for the other dishes specifically though. Wait stuff was very attentive. Atmosphere is nice but I couldn’t tell you anything about it now. Nothing really stood out but the food. Which is refreshing

The atmosphere and food was great but the service was top tier from management down to the wait staff. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood, staff were smiling and dancing. It appears that Yunta has a healthy work culture, pray it stays that way. I ordered the Peruvian fried rice (very scrumptious) and the Pisco punch which paired very well with the rice. Also, the Peruvian popcorn, ADDICTIVE, couldn't stop eating it!

Food was amazing; we are always looking for an innovative take on food. Their unconventional approach on Peruvian food was astounding. Service was immaculate and atmosphere was very welcoming even for our one year old.

I recently visited Yunta (Peruvian) restaurant and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. To start, the side of mushrooms arrived before the main meal, which was a bit off-putting and awkward. I ordered the lomo saltado, but the dish was a letdown. The beef was overcooked, tough, and chewy, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. While the server was very nice and attentive, the poor quality of the food overshadowed his efforts. It’s a shame because the service was great, but I can’t recommend this place based on the food.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte but it's getting harder to get in there. I guess the word is really spreading! I try to bring all of my out of town visitors to this spot because I love it so much. The ceviche and pisco punch are particularly amazing. Parking is a little tight so I'd recommend not driving if you don't have to.

The appetizers (pork belly and fried plantains) set the bar so incredibly high the rest of the meal had no choice but to follow and it DID. Went for my birthday with my fiancé and we haven’t stopped recommending it to everyone since!
