I am from out of town and I’ve heard about this place on TikTok. Glad I got the chance to try it out. The food was amazing definitely a 10/10 and the services was amazing as well. The owner was very nice! Food came out in less than 20 min.

Zanzibar Cafe suck I went inside to place my order wi asked the cashier if they had GOAT PEPPER SOUP and she said yes and I asked if it was ready she said yes n she said she would bring it to my truck when it ready but about 5 minutes late the cook came out to my truck to ask me if I mined waiting 35 minutes and I said why she said because the soup is still in the freezer frozen I said to her but I asked ur cashier was it already ready n she said yes so I asked if I could have a courtesy bowl of soup of another kind while I wait n the owner said no I'm like wow no even for my inconvenience she no and I for a refund so put the money back on my card n that was last Thursday and my money still isn't on my card WORSE PLACE EVER BE CAREFUL IF U GO THERE??? IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY ACTUALLY FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP

The first time I ate here about 3 months ago, the food was 10/10 GREAT. However, the last two times my orders have been so salty that it was unbearable to eat. I tried everything to de-salt the food both times and ended up just not eating it. Please cut back on the heavy salt. It’s unhealthy and doesn’t taste good.

Let’s say this, the lady in the front was so rude and nonchalant I came in one morning. Maybe the first customer there. Was rude. Irritable. And I heard her warming up my cassava leaves in the microwave so I figured maybe I got the left over batch from last night. Soon as I got home to open it the middle of the bowl was still cold like frozen when I bit into my chicken. It was completely disgusting! I haven’t been back ever since. I do recommend Zowees! They have the best African food in Charlotte!

Upon driving to the restaurant after receiving a confirmation email was I made aware my order was canceled. A courtesy call to the customer could have saved me a 30 min drive with no food. This is the second time this has happened to me at this restaurant and I won’t allow it to be a 3rd time:

My first time dining in this small cozy place for lunch. The customer service was great and informational but I had my mind set on the okra sauce and rice. My colleague and I didn't have to wait long but my food tasted like they burnt the sauce on the oven top was not good at all but i was hungry. My colleague had a fish plate which she ate and enjoyed.
