Zapata's Mexican Restaurant

Coming from a California girl who grew up spoiled with the best Mexican food on earth, finding anything remotely authentic out here has been a whole journey. This spot finally ended the struggle.

My husband ordered the carnitas plate, and obviously I stole a bite because that’s my love language. Those carnitas were perfection. I had the enchiladas suizas and they were just as incredible. Legit flavor, legit execution.

Service was top tier. Our server, Niko, was super friendly and on point.

We’re absolutely coming back.

Way bigger than it looks from the outside. 1st pic is Fajita Chimichanga with chicken, rice and refried beans for $14.50 USD. 2nd pic is Street tacos with refried beans and rice for $14.50 USD. Server friendly and attentive. Food arrived promptly and portions huge. Plenty of seating. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Recommend.

Stopped in one day last week for lunch. Service was really good and the place was busy as we arrived near the end of lunch rush. More than three different people checked in on us about more chips and drinks. My wife and I both had fajita quesadilla and were very happy. Nice atmosphere, we enjoyed our visit.

We’ve been waiting for the service for 20 mins because I wanted take to go, and then he comes and asked what we want to order, I said I don’t wanna wait for the next 20 mins. Just in case, restaurant was almost EMPTY. Hostess wanted to treat me like a ‘bad’ customer cause I wanted to make a to go order???? Crazy, I live in this area and will never come again!

I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for the past 14 years and have always appreciated the food and atmosphere. However, during my recent visit, I was quite disappointed with the experience.

We ordered four dishes—two were okay, but the other two fell far below expectations. In particular, the fish taco had a bitter taste, which suggested that the oil used might not have been fresh. This was quite off-putting and not something I've come to expect from a place I’ve enjoyed for so long.

Additionally, I noticed that many of the dishes have nearly doubled in price. While I understand the impact of inflation and rising costs, the quality of the food should at least match, if not exceed, previous standards—especially at a higher price point.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively. I’d love to see the quality return to what made this place special in the first place.

The food tasted nothing like water..we ordered grilled chicken casadilla and steak Fajitas, everything was so dry and tasteless.. dont think will return ever again here

Food was delicious, service was amazing and atmosphere was great too. I am definitely coming back again. The only feedback I have is wish they have more customization options for vegetarian or for other diet restrictions. If you haven't, worth trying.

Dietary restrictions: I wish their vegetables are separate so if we want to remove any particular vegetables due to allergies we can.
