My wife and I made a return visit with friends. Had a custom made pizza 9/10. She has chicken piccata 10/10. Great visit. That Barolo still rocks on half price wine night.

Anita with Offline - If I could give 10 stars I would. The food was amazing! I had Piccata w/Salmon and my.friend had the stuffed Eggplant, which is a very generous portion. It looks so tasty i had to dig into their plate too and I was pleasantly surprised on how good it was. I will definitely be back and I will definitely get the stuffed Eggplant with Lemoncello Strawberry cake. The prices are really reasonable as well. I will say most places are hot or miss, but I could tell by the traffic of people, this place is a hit.

Tucked away in a side street in Myers Park, is Zio. It’s an old school, casual, neighborhood place you stop by for a pizza or some pasta. Looking for a wine deal? Tuesday- Thursday half price bottles of wine! It’s good for a couple, a family, or a group of friends. One side is the bar side (they had live music!) and the other side, the seating for the restaurant. They do a brisk take out business as well. The servers were all friendly and accommodating. One of the band members even stopped to say hello before their set. It’s a place that you might see friends unexpectedly or maybe make a new friend! And their pizza was great! We tried both the hot pie (thin crust - a classic choice) and their grilled pizza- crispy and cut in squares. I’m already thinking about when to go back!!

Zios was wonderful! I got the chicken picatta and it brought me back to my nonnas. I grew up in an Italian house so I get a little picky when going out for Italian food but this was perfect. So good. The fried ravioli was great and the Marinara that came with it had that fresh made taste. My husband got the cheese pizza and we loved that as well! Our server was Bria (Brie?) And she had the most friendly personality and was so bubbly! This Italian girl will be back over and over again! A+ for you Zio!

Socially Acquainted

Roketa with Offline - This felt like such a cute and quaint neighborhood gem. It was bustling with people that felt like family with the way everyone smiled and said hello when we entered the building - guests and employees alike. It completely set the tone for the meal, with the food being a wonderful burst of flavor.

The bread they bring out to start the meal off with was soft and warm - served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We kept it simple with Toasted Ravioli, a Harvest Salad, and the Angel Hair and Meatballs - all of which I’d recommend.

The salad was nice and light and the lemon vinaigrette made me want to come home and experiment on my own to enjoy all the time. The creaminess and twang of the goat cheese was a nice contrast to the sweet crunch of the sugar roasted pecans.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have the Angel Hair and Meatballs, it was my partners selection. He said the meatballs were seasoned to perfection and the entire dish was very flavorful and delicious.

We got the Toasted Ravioli as an appetizer, with about 3 leftover in order to still have an appetite for our entrees. Let’s just say, I gobbled the remaining ones up for dessert as I couldn’t bare to waste them and didn’t want to take the chance they wouldn’t be as good if I took them to go.

We went on a Wednesday, so we were able to enjoy the bonus of jazz that starts at 7 pm - it’s indoors, near the bar, but you can hear it thorough out the restaurant.

Full disclosure, we went/discovered them on an Offline deal (which we each had giving us $10 off a piece), but I’ll definitely be making return visits, as a regular customer, for the pizza, lasagna, and service.

Here for my birthday. Live music, a lovely serenade for moi, and a seat on the patio. Food was good. Nice wine selection. Husband and I feasted, danced and laughed like new lovers.

Such an underrated spot in Charlotte. I went on a Wednesday for jazz night, it was the perfect date spot. Wait staff was super accommodating and the owner introduced himself as soon as I sat down. The vibes were on point and it felt like everyone who was there just wanted to hang out and have a good time over some food.

Zio is a gem. I sat at the bar for my meal and it was great. Friendly staff and great food. I had a glass of wine and their penne a la vodka. TBH the best penne a la vodka I’ve ever had (and I don’t say that lightly).
