My friend from college came to visit and we made reservations here as first timers. The place is very small, so, a reservation is needed. We got 2 bottles of wine, the garlic shrimp, toasted ravioli, penne ala vodka w/chicken, chicken picatta, and the chocolate cake with the whip frosting. The bread they gave us was cold, I'm not sure if that is normal or not. It took forever to get us our bottles to the table. The garlic shrimp could've maybe been more flavorful, but the sauce was good. The pasta that came with the chicken picatta tasted like pure lemon, I couldn't taste anything else. It was off-putting. The chicken was great. The cake was absolutely amazing! We were sat at a very small table and I had to use the ledge to make room at the table the entire time. The service could've been a lot better, but it didn't seem to be too many servers. It was extremely loud to the point, my friend and I couldn't hear each other at all. On Wednesdays, they do have a jazz band. However, we went on a Friday. It isn't a bunch of thrills to this place, but it is decent. Parking can definitely be challenging.

We didn’t have a reservation and the hostess accommodated our group and took great care of our table. The pasta was delicious, everything tasted homemade and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and excellent service. We will be back.
Our first time in Charlotte. We had traveled all day and wanted Italian but we were dressed very casual so did not want an upscale restaurant. Zio was perfect. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable.

Brianna was such an amazing waitress. She recommended the Naples pizza and Penne ala Vodka add blackened chicken and O M G. Both were great recommendations! I will definitely be back.

A friend recommended Zio Casual Italian in Charlotte, North Carolina so finally went to try it. My family is Italian so I rarely have Italian when I go out but Zio was a nice surprise. The shining star of everything was our server Brianna. She has had an infectious smile and was super accommodating and friendly. She gave us great suggestions and knew the menu and restaurant very well! The service was top-notch! The food was good. The Caesar salad was crunchy and not soggy and the dressing was very tasty and delicious. Love to the penne vodka. The sauce had tons of flavor and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We wanted to try the pizza. We had the New York style crust with pepperoni. It was very good for Charlotte. My least favorite thing was the chicken Parmesan. It was a little dry and I didn’t like the red sauce that was on it. The bread they gave you at the table with the olive oil side was also very good. Had a really good texture and was very flavorful and the olive oil was delicious. They had a very good selection of wine and beer and on Wednesdays, the bottles are half price. That’s a really good deal! The ambience was nice. Not sure if I would bring a first date there. Reminded me of my grandmother‘s kitchen, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Will definitely go back and try other things!!

Zio’s was great! We made the reservation the same day for Friday evening. Brianna was our server and she was super nice! She also mentioned that Wednesdays and Thursdays are half-price wine bottles, so we’ll clearly need to return! ? I highly recommend the flash fried ravioli appetizer. My wife really enjoyed the vodka penne with chicken, I thought the Angel Hair pasta was good too! Zio’s definitely feels like a neighborhood restaurant where the locals have been going for years. We’re looking forward to going back again soon! ?
Vibes were immaculate. Half priced wine AND Jazz? This is the place to be on a Wednesday night.
