Burgers are delicious! They get very busy. They have been open since 1941 I believe and with good reason. Food is great!

Shake Shop is a beloved old-school restaurant known for serving the best burgers around. Operating on a cash-only basis with limited hours, the Lotta Burger is a customer favorite - a hand-patted burger with slaw and tomato, seasoned to perfection. The friendly staff cooks fresh and made-to-order onion rings and fries. Their specialty Cherry Sun Drop drink is a must-try. This tiny burger joint has been awarded the Best Burger in North Carolina by various magazines and newspapers. The original Lotta Burger, with local hamburger, cheese, cole slaw, tomato, and pickle, is a must-have. Customers travel from nearby towns just to enjoy this burger, which is said to be imitated but never duplicated. The place is popular, and while waiting, several customers pull in to pick up orders called in. Though the shake machine broke 40 years ago, the burgers and service keep customers coming back.
