A great place to eat. Support local business.
We came in today because we haven’t eaten here in years. Well, never again. Every single table was dirty. So we sat at the cleanest dirty table we found. Nobody acknowledged us, so I walked up to the counter to order. Some other people started coming in and sitting down and immediately got service that came to their table and they got their food even though we ordered anywhere from 5-10 minutes before they did. When we did get our food, we got it in to go containers and bagged up. I never ordered To-go, so we just unpacked everything and ate there. The waitress was apologetic but jeez, way to make paying customers feel unwelcome. When I took my toddler to the bathroom I noticed you can buy used shoes with actual cobwebs on them for $7.00 if that’s your thing. They also have drain stoppers for $3. And crack lighters for $1. I know this is more of a “mom and pop” kinda place but I didn’t realize the standards were so low to have the place covered in filth. I honestly should’ve left when I saw the restaurant was dead and every table was dirty. I really wouldn’t recommend it for dine in, if the FOH looks like that who knows what’s going on in BOH.
Super nice staff & great southern style food. I also love that it's a convenient option in Claremont!
Not that good today
Simply my favorite bbq place around. The service is amazing, food is even better. We always leave with leftovers. Also love the trump items for sale.
Very poor business, you never know when its open even if it says open on here, no call ins, they will even pick the phone up and hang up, done with these fools, deleting there bumbers
Food and service was very good. The owner came out and talked to me and was very nice. Had a country diner feel to the place.
I’ll start out by saying the servers were very nice. No problems with them. Barbecue was mediocre. Fried squash was awful. Chicken fingers were awful. My kid wouldn’t even eat them. Baked beans are OK but very sweet. I knew that ordering the food I was taking a chance, and if I didn’t like it, then oh well, I was going to pay for it. But when the server came to pick up the plates, she noticed I did not eat the squash. She asked if I liked it and I was honest and told her no. But I told her I didn’t mind paying for it because I took a chance when ordering. She insisted I take another side home with me in place of the squash so I said OK I’ll take the fries for my kid. The next thing I know the owner came out to the table and leaned into me telling me that he sold two bags of squash recently, and that it was my fault that I didn’t like the squash and it was no fault of their own. He proceeds to tell me how many years they have been in business and reiterated that it is my fault that I did not like the squash and that I complained. I told him I did not intend on complaining. It was very unprofessional on his part. Having been in the restaurant industry for 11 years, never ever does management need to point blame at a customer if the customer does not like the food. I was blown away by him even coming out there to tell me it was my fault. Like why even do that? I guess that made him feel better about running his business but I for one will not return. I don’t know what all these people rave about with this place. Food is not good and they have a bunch of thrift store junk for sale on the wall.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS “RESTAURANT”!!!
The food is great. The people who work there truly make your meal enjoyable. The owner circulates thru the restaurant talking to the guests. When I am heading down I40, I always stop in for a meal.
I could cook better bbq in my microwave!!! Bad taste, bad quality food!
The tea and bbq beans were great and so was the staff! I hate leaving a bad review when the people were SO nice, but it was not good food. I really can’t understate how friendly the staff was.

I’m not lieing when I say this was probably the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. The waitress was very nice so no complaints there at all. Just the food was not good. The potato salad and mashed potatoes tasted just like dish soap. Will be my last time there. I was not the only one there that said there food tasted like it had been ran through the dishwasher.

Food was Nasty.. The potato salad tasted like Dish water and my Husband had Potatoes and gravy and that tasted like dish Soap. The chicken wasn’t all that great either..the BBQ was alright.. wasn’t the best I’ve ever had.. nothing to brag about though.. All of it tasted like it was ran through a dish washer. other than that the Customer Service was great.
