“It's a hole in the wall type restaurant that has been here forever. Food is always delicious, but the standing in line and having your hollered out across the restaurant to pick up your food is deafening. You stand in line to place your order, but if the phone is ringing or the cook gets overwhelmed, just know it's going to be a looong wait and the line continues to build. But, the food is good ?.”

“First time at this particular Granny's location. I frequent the Hickory establishment, and they have he best breakfast around. My food was delicious, but a bit on the greasy side for my taste. Nothing bad about any of it, though I thought the fried pickles were quite overly salted from the kitchen. I'd definitely go back for seconds tho.

Dietary restrictions: Don't even try if a greasy country spoon isn't in your wheelhouse.

Kid-friendliness: My three year old didn't leave a crumb from her tenders and it's s welcome environment for the kiddos.

“I hate to leave anything other than a 5 because I love subway but I was really hungry and got a sub for me and one for my husband. I got to work starving and realized the bun was very hard and burned. its a shame because she made the sub beautifully and just how I liked it. I normally get my subs in Newton because the bread is always perfect and made to my liking. I hope this helps the Claremont location to watch out and not serve burnt or reheated old bread.”

“Burgers were made well and pretty good, typical Burger King. Drive thru was quick. Fries were good and cooked well, crispy outside and soft inside. Good fries makes everything better!”

“The cheeseburger all the way are great, but for the first time since I’ve been ordering my order on Wednesday was two cheeseburgers all the way with a order of onion rings and a order of potato wedges as I was pulling out on the road to leave the parking lot I reached over and ate one of the potato wedges and they were cold The onion rings were also not hot. It was like they had been sitting there a while . The two cheeseburgers I ordered they were good. I was going to go back in, but I didn’t. I just brought it home and put it in the microwave and warm the taters and onion rings For the prices that are being charged for these they should at least been hot or at least warm. I will still continue to order from you, but do better next time, please”

The spot they are in is a little small, but some of the best places I've eaten at have been had to find with not a lot of space inside!
I had the Takoyaki (as recommended by a friend), and it was delicious. I need to get a bottle of the sauce for home use!
Also tried the Tonkotsu, which came out looking almost identical to the picture. It was the most authentic and flavorful Ramen I've had in NC!

Please, please, please support and eat at this hidden treasure of a restaurant so we can keep them in Hickory!!!”

“My wife and I brought our four-month old in for our very first visit. From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left, the service was above and beyond. Our waiter (Bryson) was polite and visited frequently enough to where we never truly needed anything. You will PAY for your meal, but for good reason. The meat was aged and of high quality. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service and food complement one another well. Highly recommended!”

“You know a restaurant is authentic when its menu is small. This restaurant hands down is legit. I ordered a gordita de asada (steak), tamal de puerco, and agua fresca de pepino y limon (cucumber and lime water). It did not disappoint. It offers three different salsas for your liking from mild to spicy. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!”
