Food was a 10/10. We got the queso tacos and nachos with carnitas. The nachos were delicious, they had a good amount of meat on it. Their food is always great. I will say tonight the consomé lacked a little flavor but no big deal for me. The service could have been a little better. Just small stuff like needing refills and getting the tab. Overall we had a good experience, will definitely be coming back!

El Patron has quickly become my favorite dining spot in Clayton after multiple visits, each time leaving me more impressed. Not only does the food steal the show with its sumptuous flavors and authentic Mexican touch, but the drinks are also crafted to perfection, truly elevating the dining experience.I've dabbled with various items on the menu and each has been a delicious exploration of culinary excellence. This place changed locations and moved into the strip mall right next door. They had the best Birria in the state. HAD. They changed locations. Changed the recipe. Changed chefs. Took the fruit juice bar out of the restaurant completely! No more delicious chips either. The food is such a disappointment now. Especially if you had it from the location on 70. I used to crave this every other week. Now it's on my list of 'never go there again' restaurants. To be clear, on my last visit (to the relocation), my Birria ramen hardly had any meat in the container. Less than a 1/5 cup of meat. Which is insane for oodles and noodles when you're paying almost $20 for the bowl. My Birria Torta was on stale bread and where they normally dip it in the Birria sauce and cook it on the flat top, it wasn't executed that way at all. Instead, they put Birria meat on the dry bread, covered it in cheese, then seared it on the cooktop (cheese side down!) & scoured and burned the cheese throughout the entire sandwich. It was dry as the Sahara. Dry and disgusting. I've never seen a restaurant make such a big mistake by relocating. In my Juila Roberts voice - "Big Huge Mistake."

I got a birria quesadilla & it was so good! Their chips & salsa are good too. Food was called in and picked up all within a 25 min window (I do live fairly close to el patron).

Food and service were both great. This was my second time coming here but the first time really trying the seafood. It all tasted really good and fresh. Got the oysters, seafood tower, the Botanas MI Mazatlan, and chocolate cake. Prices are maybe slightly high but for the portion size and taste it's definitely worth
