Lil Hombre Smoked Taco Joint

If I lived in Clayton I would probably find myself here at least once a week. Sadly it's a 30-minute drive from home in Raleigh, but I will still make the trek when I'm feeling it.
I'll start with the bad. It was kind of chilly inside... old building on a chilly day and all. That's it for the bad. Bring a sweater and you'll be fine.
The menu is very simple... Three meats, 3 styles of tacos, you pick. My only regret was that eating nine tacos was not something that I'm capable of doing in a single sitting.
The tacos were all delicious, there was a large selection of random hot sauces if you're into that (I am), the cocktails (good tequila and mezcal options) are delightful (again, limited options but very tasty... and they're happy to adjust them as needed). The staff (of one when I was there) was friendly and helpful. It's very casual... Somewhat limited indoor seating but perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. I can't wait to go here in warmer weather with a large group of friends... the outdoor seating looks great.
Oh, there's a variety of canned and bottled non alcoholic beverages too. Can't wait to go back!

Came at 9pm on Sunday night, the grill was off. I ordered my tacos (hombre chicken) to go, they fired up the grill and cooked up the tacos. Got home and they were amazing.

Food is good. Tacos are quite a bit overpriced.
3 tacos for 17 dollars and was still hungry after.

Tacos are pretty good, but the price is a killer! $5 per taco is not the move at least have a deal of 3 or 4 for $12. Otherwise it’s just getting to ridiculous.

I absolutely loved the Clayton location. Super happy I was able to make it out to the Wake Forest location which is closer to my house. Best tacos ever! And the service is spot on. Atmosphere is beautiful. Will be coming back. I am a new regular, lol!

Owed my buddy a favor and took him here to try it out. We both got 3 tacos and had a few beers. Tacos were amazing, steak hombre style and steak traditional style. Sally M. Was awesome!! Gave great service and made some amazing tacos. She was very friendly and fun. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Went down to visit my friend who just moved to Clayton and this is a great spot. Elite tacos and margaritas. Our server Mercedes was awesome. Will be back.
