The food was great. The server was nice enough, but the restaurant was incredibly loud and busy, so it was really difficult to communicate. We were seated right behind the bar area, so that definitely contributed to the noise. It was also prime time on a Saturday night. So I understand, but I literally could not hear the people at my own table, let alone someone trying to take orders and provide service.
I would be willing to try them again, but I highly recommend sitting away from the end of the bar area.

9 out of 15 for a total of 3 stars.

Mannings is one of my favorite places to take out-of-town company. My last visit was embarrassing as the food was very sub par. My baked potato was microwaved days before I think, dry not hot and so not fluffy as a baked potato should be. I asked for another one and was told all of them were like that. My vegetables were mushy noy crisp as they usually are. My cousin ordered a grilled shrimp salad with no croutons and got salad with blackened shrimp and tons of croutons. It will be a long time before I go back again. So sad.

What a great and unexpected find in Clayton, NC on a Friday afternoon … ♥️ Atmosphere, food quality, beautiful menu, the care to detail by the staff/service could not have been better !! Even better it looked to be a local favorite and place to be. If you haven’t already been … now’s the time to go !!

Ordered wings to-go, waited 40 minutes and still nothing, I thought since it was really busy they were just a whole, once 40 minutes came around I asked them where they were. They were sitting in the back, cold. Ridiculous.

I placed an order through their online pick up system. The order was placed for a future time. When I went to pick it up at the time, the food wasn’t ready yet, which was understandable, I figured 5-10 more minutes to wait. NOPE, 40 minutes later I was handed “my order”. I got to the car and double checked, the order was not mine. I proceed to walk back to the restaurant and waited ANOTHER 30 minutes. 1hour and 10 minutes after my pick up time, I was finally handed my order, only to realize the portion size seemed extremely small, and also they did not follow the instructions that we wanted regular fries not sweet potato fries. The eggrolls were pathetic, what in the world is that tiny one?!? We love Mannings, the food is delicious, but they are not equipped to handle online orders for pick up on time.

A few months back, I stopped in with my daughter in law. Seated at side table by bar and never waited on. After 15 minutes of being ignored we left. I’ve had several
business/Christmas party events here and never disappointed. Decided personally to give the restaurant a chance and yet again a fail. Roof top dining and only brought my food out and not my daughter's. We asked how long on her food and waitress said she did not place my daughter’s order. She stated “misunderstanding”. Wanted my daughter to experience this local restaurant , as I support my community. Instead she experienced Arbty’s. Will not go back even with my place of business ! I have to say I’ve never experienced this type of situation and I stated this to the waitress as well. Such a disappointment.

We had lunch at Manning's today. What a treat! We started with crab dip and pita triangles. Warm, gooey, cheesy and so yummy! My brother had the BLT and French Onion soup. He said it was delicious. I had the Drunken Chicken Sandwich with Cajun spice dusted fries. It was so good.
Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

We were excited to try this cute little spot. Walking in, the lower level and bar were upscale and ornate. We were offered a seat upstairs and agreed. Upon reaching the top, the atmosphere changed to that of a tea room filled with a bit of the smoke from the kitchen downstairs.
Our server was kind and attentive. We ordered the Cesar salad which was delicious, the ribeye egg rolls, and Luigi’s linguine. The egg rolls were good but the sauce on the linguine tasted almost like spaghettios. It wasn’t at all what I would guess based on the menu description. I ended up sending it back and ordering a half rack of ribs. The sauce was different than I expected, I expected more of a sweet baby rays, but it had a nice heat and smoke to it. We may try it again just to see if any of the other food is as good as it looks.
