McKinley's Restaurant & Pub

So this happened today… After a long day of work, I stopped by McKinney’s Irish Pub in Clayton to grab some wings and fries for dinner. I walked in with a smile, feeling good that the day was winding down. I went to the bar, sat down, and placed my order. Then the bartender asked me to get up so a man could take my seat. Yes—asked me to give up my seat for a man. The man himself was confused and kindly said, “She doesn’t have to do that—I’ll sit somewhere else.” Meanwhile, I’m sitting there, stunned and increasingly frustrated. Trying to keep my composure, I waited for my food. Then the bartender looked at me and asked, “Are you alright?” My mood had obviously shifted. I told her exactly why I wasn’t alright: You asked me to give up my seat for a man. That was offensive and unnecessary. She tried to backtrack and say, “No, I just asked if you could slide over.” But that’s not what happened. Eventually she apologized—but by then, the damage was done. This isn’t about a seat. It’s about how easily some people still dismiss and disrespect others, especially Black women. I wasn’t loud. I wasn’t rude. I was tired. And I was treated like I didn’t belong. We deserve better. We deserve basic respect.

Should be embarrassed to call this an Irish restaurant and what you served me fish and chips. And you might want to inform you wait staff they should pay me more attention then there friend/coworker back at the POS system as I’m the one who gives her money to them! So when I wait for 10 mins to have to send the flat drink I was served back she earned her zero tip

Definitely a cool little restaurant. The interior is dark and has a lot of cool decor around. The service was fantastic. And the food was average. I certainly would recommend going the atmosphere is the best experience out of everything.

Dietary restrictions: I'm sure you can get things altered.

Parking: The restaurant is located in a shopping center.

Kid-friendliness: It's okay, it is a pub.

They serve simple food but it’s executed in the worst way. They really don’t care and it shows. $60 for 2 sodas, 1 app, and 2 sandwiches. I would never go back there. It’s not worth it.

Food was horrible. Wings were not tossed in the sauce we ordered. Mozzarella sticks were part cold. And to boot they are way more expensive than many other places that sell wings. We will never eat here again. Overpriced mediocre food.

First time here. The Bacon Bacon Burger was one of the best I have ever had. The cook on it was actually medium. Boneless wings were great. The only reason I can’t give an 5 is the chips. I felt they could have been seasoned just a little bit. However, the Atmosphere was very nice and my waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. I will be be going back for sure!!!!!!!

For some fun with karaoke, this is a simple Saturday hangout. Drinks are reasonable, and you can expect typical bar fare. Service is usually very quick and friendly
