The Rockin Comet Diner is now permanently closed. after being sold a couple of times with the quality of food significantly degraded, it has been torn down to be replaced by aCook Out Hamburger drive through. sad. end of an era.

Upon walking in, the atmosphere is dingey and poor. The only customer base there was literally ONLY Octogenarians, and that's usually a bad sign, as it means bland and flavorless food. Broken, grease covered floor tiles that I almost slipped on walking my way to the table. Starch white walls. It hosts the look of a classic diner, but unfortunately it is only white in the interior with no finessing touches or personality to really make it feel like an authentic diner moreso than a drab, shined up dumpster. Honestly felt like an abandoned, dilapidated old folks home. Floors and tables were dirty. Condiments on the table were empty. I will say the staff was very friendly and attentive, however that was completely negated when they changed their tone upon checkout when I asked for my meal to be removed from the bill, since I didn't eat it. They didn't take it well, and seemed downright offended and were quite frankly difficult after that. I even offered to pay for the meal so as not to take more time/wait for a manager approval. Server gently asked what was wrong, and I told her I didn't like the meal, as then chicken wasn't breaded, had no flavor and if there was any breading it was soggy. After even offering to pay, the manager was very snappy with me, as if she personally slaved over the fryer herself. I ordered chicken tenders and fries, because quite frankly everything else on the menu looked unappealing. The fries were ok, crispy on the outside but somehow just not cooked enough all the way through. The chicken, although it was all white meat tenders, were not really 'chicken tenders.' There was almost no breading, and what was there was soggy and greasy. The chicken also had absolutely no flavor. I pushed it aside, waited for my mom to finish, and went to the bathroom. Y'all I have never felt dirtier in a public restroom. And to top it off, there was no toilet paper in the stalls. I came back then took the bill up front to pay. That's when the request to remove the food began, and that's what absolutely solidified my feelings about the overall condition of this eatery. I'm not sure if this location is still slated to be purchased by Cook Out, but honestly it would be a vast improvement. They also must be aware that this is a poor establishment, as they have their reviews disabled on Google which is a red flag.

Came to this spot for a quick breakfast with family. The staff were very friendly making sure we were OK and settled in.Food wise it left alot to be desired. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla that came with hashbrowns and a side of bacon. The hash browns were very bland enough that I had no desire to eat more than a spoonful. The quesadilla itself tasted pretty good but still lacked seasoning. It was filled with ham, cheese, and peppers. Be aware it fell open multiple times while eating. The side of bacon was the most delicious thing I had here. They were crispy and full of flavor.I would only recommend this location for a quick bite to eat.

Wife and I had breakfast here this morning. If you're looking for an old time small town vintage diner, look no further this is your place. The food was great, cooked to perfection and the service was quick and friendly.
