This 5 star review is for Jessica in the bakery. I was there one Saturday and talked to her about needing 48 cupcakes for the following Saturday, and I wanted a mixture of chocolate and vanilla. She asked the reason for the event, and I told her it was dinner for my son that had gotten married. She offered to make them “special” and SPECIAL they were!! She decorated them so pretty! It was not the average looking cupcake. She tile me she would personally decorate them for me. She was not there when we picked up, but I hope someone will tell her about this review! And we were asked more than once that night, “Who did the cupcakes?” We gave the Walmart bakery a shoutout!! We told them to ask for Jessica if they ordered. I also want to say I just love William the greeter. He makes me smile every time I see him, even if I am having a bad day. I only have one complaint, but it’s not just for this Walmart so I will not reduce my 5 star review: WHY in the world does Walmart not take Apple Pay?? Even Dollar Tree has Apple Pay! I do not like using my card. I prefer to tap pay with my phone. Someone needs to take this one to the top and get it changed. But great job, Jessica and William. You make me want to go to this Walmart every time, and I’m situated between 3 Walmarts fairly equally in distance. I’ll choose Clayton Walmart over Knightdale and Smithfield every time!!

5 years ago, i would have rated this Walmart 7☆'s.... it used to have everything, but now the shimmer and shine aren't what they used to be. We went in looking for toys (early Christmas shopping), and they have an okay selection, I suppose, but nothing compared to other super Walmarts around us.
We went in kinda late at night so it was not nearly as staffed as it would be during the day (which is expected) but the staff members that we did have interaction with were very sweet and helpful.
All in all, it's a decent Walmart to shop at.
****I've attached a random video of these new baby toys that seem cool, but they are all connected via Bluetooth that automatically turns on when the toy is powered on. If you surround your baby with this "Band" of Bluetooth connected toys, talk about loads of unnecessary EMF radiation!!!! Steer clear of these freaky things. They are not safe!****

This Walmart at Clayton location is a great option for those looking for affordable prices and a wide variety of products. This is the only walmart location where the cashier or self check out lines go faster.

I frequently shop at this location every week. While prices have gone up on most of my family's food staples, there's still plenty of everything in stock, even on weekends. The store has been remodeled recently and seems to be fairly clean and has a good amount of revolving, seasonal items. It does not carry as much stock and variety of products compared to the Goldsboro and Clayton (Hwy 70) locations, but this store is more convenient for my family's needs.

Average prices, good selection of items. It will take me a while to get used to the "update" to the store and not sure I like it, TBH. I don't shop here as much as I used to. Prefer to go to smaller stores so I can be in & out more easily.
