Parkway House Family Restaurant

This is a great place to eat. Great food, great prices and very friendly service. This is always a stop (at least) once when we go for the races twice a year.

I could have gone to Foodlion and bought Sweet Sue dumplings. Who has chicken & dumplings and spreads the chicken on top of the dumplings. This was the worst meal ever.

Service is always good but I can no longer say the same for the food. The burgers are like the thin, flower-shaped frozen patties you get in bulk with little balls of gristle throughout it and the home fries were hard chunks of flavorless grease. The entire plate was covered in thick grease that the napkins would not soak up. Partner said their hashbrowns were also flavorless.

Seems like the past 3-4 months this place has gone backwards. Lots of new people. The servers are nice and welcoming. But the food has taken a turn for the worse. I’ve gone 3 separate times in the past 2 months and it just seems like I always get sick or someone in our party ends up sick. The food just isn’t the same.

I got there at 10:45, sat there for 15 minutes before someone finally came to my table and then they tell me the kitchen isn’t wanting to do anymore breakfast? Even though they are supposed to be serving it until 1? Even though the tables next to me all ordered breakfast?

Slow service but the food was good. Think they need help in the kitchen and training the staff on how to address long wait times with customers.

Macaroni and cheese was ice cold (frozen) in the middle, taseless, and over cooked. Turkey and dressing was very bland and mushy. Will not be returning to this establishment.

Miranda was our waitresses. She was fantastic. we had met there for lunch...and it was delicious. our families came from Durham, Mooresville, and Greenville and we loved the meal and Miranda was friendly and took great care of us!

After trying a different restaurant to find out that it had been closed down we tried coming here for the first time since it was close to our original destination.

We have eaten at the other location and it's always been great. This however had great service but the food was bland and very lackluster. Most likely we would not come back.

The chicken and pork chop we ordered were good. The only side that was good was the mashed potatoes and gravy. The other sides ordered were rice and collard greens, the rice was undercooked and chalky the collards were bland. The service was okay they didn’t know their menu and had to go ask which we appreciated but after we ordered they never came back to check in or refill drinks. I’d probably return maybe it was an off day.

We walked in, sat down, looked up at the sanitation score, got up, and walked right back out. I've added the photos from their low score. I do not eat anywhere with a score below a 98 this one is a 90. Not only is that gross BUT dangerous as well. Do better. Everyone beware!
