Pier 51 Seafood Restaurant

Pros: Food is great, prices reasonable, service is always good, and customers are super nice and friendly. My problem was with management. Our waitress was new. Not a problem, we understand, people have to learn. We placed our order. I chose a senior/child whiting plate which comes with french fries and hush puppies. I added a salad. The meal was 8.50, and the salad was 1.50. I had an ice water to drink. $10.00 total for my meal. Very reasonable. Our order came out. Mine was all wrong. The salad was correct. The fish was not whiting, there was shrimp also on the plate, and no fries. I told the waitress that wasn't my order. I could tell that stressed her. She said, do you want to keep it? I was trying to be gracious and told her it would be fine. She seemed relieved. I was halfway through my meal when another waitress walked over to our table. She asked, what I had ordered. I told her senior plate, whiting, and a side salad. She said, ok, I am trying to get things straight. That's actually not whiting, that's flounder. She asked did I want the whiting. I said, no, I'm halfway through, so no need to place another order. She said "ok, I just want you to be happy with your order," and she picked up our check. I thought perhaps she was going to give us a discount for being so considerate. She was gone for a few minutes, came back and put the check on our table face down. When it was time to leave, I reviewed our check as I always do, she had scratched through what was written on the ticket for my order and she added 5.99 to my meal! A meal I didn't order and wasn't particularly fond of was now 15.99! When I told our waitress I wasn't happy about it, she tried to make it right by giving me 10.00 cash. I told her no, that wasn't fair, the kitchen got the order wrong, and it wasn't right to punish her. She said she would rather pay than go to the manager. She was afraid to lose her job. Then I asked who the lady was who changed our check, and she said, Caroline, she's the owner. I couldn't believe it. What a horrible way to treat a customer. It wasn't the 5.99. Although frankly I think it's illegal to make someone pay for something they didn't order. Would she have charged me for both of the plates if I had said, yes, I prefer the whiting? (Which I do.) Just an FYI, the waitress wouldn't take the money back, I left it on the table. Great job on the waitress who understands the value of treating a customer well. Conclusion: I got a meal I didn't order and had to pay 60% more for it.

The food was as good or better than seafood restaurants closer to the coast but at a lower cost. The serving sizes were good; I ate lunch and had enough left over for dinner. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Service was great. Food was mediocre - the salads are pretty disappointing (iceberg lettuce and some cheese with a few cherry tomatoes), the fish for both me and my wife's orders was underseasoned (we got grilled salmon and grilled mahi), the broccoli side was either very overcooked or came out of a freezer. If this was a $30 meal that would have been one thing but our meal was over $70 after tip which is around what we'd have paid for dinner for two at Bonefish Grille, and their food is phenomenal (and yeah we tipped, our server was great and it wasn't her fault the food was sub par)

Greek family seafood and more restaurant. The food is excellent. At times, wait staff is like everywhere else, not enough of them. Seafood, bbq, steak, all is very good.

My first time to Pier 51 to enjoy Excellent food and Superior Service and Staff and which during my visit I didn't feel rushed I was check on frequently and beverage stayed full never reached the bottom of the glass plus I was offered a to-go cup 🥤. I will definitely be a return customer to Pier 51

These are the types of restaurants that I miss coming to. Great food, the atmosphere was old school and nice. We were there a little longer than expected but it was a Friday night and they were super busy as expected. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definetley be back!

Typical seafood restaurant vibe from tables to painting on the walls. Waitress was friendly but servicer a little slow. The food I ordered was hot but over all experience was a little pricey. Will not be back. Forgot to mention that this was on a weekday.

Mixed feelings. Took about 10 minutes to get a drink order in and menus, about 10 more to get our order taken. Our waitress was very nice. The food was good, though the first hush puppies weren't hot. For the money you do get a nice serving. Will possibly go back.

The food was really good other than the red slaw with my dish plate. The slaw tasted like soap. The wait staff was very nice but very inattentive. Would go back and try again.

Had our order delivered ($137), and they sent 1/2 our order wrong. We called and they tried to put fault on uber eats. They only bring what they are given. Uber doesn’t know what I order. The RUDE guy that said he was the manager would do nothing about it, and said “oh well” . We order from there every Friday night, but will never again. Horrible customer service!
