If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience with Waffle House’s online ordering system has been one of the most frustrating, unprofessional messes I’ve ever dealt with.
I placed an order directly through WaffleHouse.com and paid in full. The delivery was supposed to be handled by Uber, but the food never arrived. No call, no driver, nothing.
When I contacted Uber, they told me exactly what my bank statement already confirmed — Waffle House (through their Olo/Oracle system) charged my card, NOT Uber.
The transaction shows up as:
“WH #1761 SPEEDWAY NC – NORCROSS GA”
meaning the money went straight to Waffle House.
So naturally, I call Waffle House… and that’s when the chaos really starts.
First, the store manager (through her employees) tells me Waffle House “can’t do anything.”
No effort to look up the order, no attempt to resolve the issue — just pure, unhelpful dismissal.
Then I get contacted by the Division Manager, Taque Thomas, who tells me to call 800-222-8111… which turns out to be a DoorDash customer service line.
DoorDash.
For an order I placed on WaffleHouse.com.
Delivered by Uber.
Charged by Olo.
That level of incompetence is honestly shocking.
My order info even had DoorDash reference notes that made zero sense, and every person I spoke to kept bouncing me to someone else — Waffle House → Uber → Waffle House → DoorDash → back to Waffle House again.
Meanwhile, I had no food and no refund.
In the end, I had to drive to the store and pay a second time just to get what I originally ordered. Who pays twice for the same meal because a company refuses to take responsibility for a failed order? Apparently Waffle House expects customers to.
For a company this large, the fact that your corporate, your division manager, your store manager, and your tech vendor (Olo) can’t coordinate or even identify who handles refunds is embarrassing. This is not a “simple mistake.” This is a system failure and a complete lack of customer care.
Waffle House — YOU charged me. YOU owe the refund.
Uber can’t refund a payment they never processed.
DoorDash has nothing to do with it.
Stop pushing your customers in circles.
Until this company figures out how to manage online payments, deliveries, and basic customer service, I strongly recommend avoiding online ordering altogether. The risk of losing your money is far too high.
Absolutely unacceptable. Do better.

This was one of the best visits to a WH that I have ever experienced. Staff was friendly and the establishment was clean. The grill master did his thing with the food. This will be my go to location moving forward.

All the eating surfaces are filthy with grease and syrup. The cook would not stop singing to himself like a toddler and was extremely annoying to listen to at 5am...

They tried to rob me and charge my card twice. I went to pay for my meal they said my card was declined. I asked them to show me the receipt that printed out after they ran my card. They refused. I asked them to show me my receipt again stating my card was declined they then said it wasn’t and it went through. I knew it did because I checked my bank account during the interaction knowing it wouldn’t have been declined. The transaction went through. Be careful here. They also tried to over charge my meal which I asked about but they tried to gaslight me saying the receipt didn’t say exactly what was written down. They were too busy paying attention to themselves and being thieves than their job.

Went here on 10/08/2025 after a concert, so it was late and really packed. There were only 3 total staff members (Cook, Cashier, & Waitress) handling the crowd & take-out orders, but they were locked in, friendly, & worked together. They really did a great job especially being under staffed. Food service workers don’t get enough credit many times. We didn’t mind doubling up on the gratuity that night.
