My very first, but not my last trip to Sonny's BBQ this week.What an awesome family atmosphere along with delicious pork and chicken. I had a Sonny's Sampler, that included pulled pork, sliced brisket, amazing dry rubbed smoked ribs and a smoked chicken leg quarter. Side items were coleslaw and some awesome pork and beans. Absolutely the best barbecue you can eat. What's the great about it is how great so many different items taste such as the unmatched garlic bread. The baked beans over the top is crinkle french fries those chicken breast, and those ribs over the top.

I grew up on Sonny's. It's sad to see the horrible changes to a once great icon. Too much corporate and too little customer. It was the best bbq place from NC to Fla. Now its just another trying to be fancy sports, food, and liquor house.A once great downhome bbq restaurant.Now just another corporate cookie cutter money grab.
