First time there and it was absolutely delicious! I believe Paula was our waitress and she was just all around awesome!!! This will definitely be a new go to spot when we’re in town. Fed two people for about $32 which is rare these days.

We had a great time, food was out fast and fresh. The vintage vibe and feel is not just a theme here. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they care about the quality of food they serve. It takes me back to a time when people took the time to actually make their customers happy and treated them with respect. This is an important detail that unfortunately has been lost over time, and most large food chains and restaurants take their customers for granted these days. It's refreshing to see that is not the case here. Highly recommend this place! Take the time to come in and sit down, to really get the full experience and the benefits of what the 50s diners had to offer folks back in the day.

How this place has 4.2 rating is beyond me. In town for work, ordered a mini cheese steak and burger combo thru Doordash because the reviews were solid. I was mislead! The audacity of some peoples' taste buds, I stg
For $8, I expected the "mini" to be longer than my finger, but thats what I get for assuming. It was LITERALLY 2 bites of underseasoned, thawed meat and cheese sauce on overly chewy bread. The tots were not even up to room temp, and I'm not 100% confident that an 8 minute ride is the cause of that.
The burger is warm enough, taste is decent with a hand-made patty and fresh veggies, maybe that's where they should stop the menu. Burgers and nothing else. Even. At all.
TL,DR: Go to sonic.
I called while traveling from black mountain back to my home in Virginia and wanted to place an order. However I called for over 15 minutes and no one would answer the phone. Since my drive is over four hours long I don’t have the 20 min or more to wait on my food to be made hince the reason I tried to call my order in. I make this trip bi weekly and have enjoyed eating at hwy 55 for years. Also all the ordering services online were down so I could t order that way either.
