Choplin's is my all time favorite. We go there for every special occasion. Last night, we went for my birthday. It was delicious.
The service was amazing! Our waitress Kelly was attentive to our needs. The Chef/Owner took time to personally great us as well. Our dinner was simply an experience .
We just had a wonderful experience at Choplin's. Our first time visiting and as soon as we walked in we knew we were in for a nice evening. The vibe is cool and sophisticated, jazzy background music, dimly lit, upscale dining. We were celebrating a special occasion which was recognized as soon as we entered and continued throughout the evening, Sky our waitress provided wonderful service, if you're looking for a great date night or special occasion spot look no further, this is it! They also do private dining, many thumbs up, highly recommend!
Needed a quick place to eat and found a reservation on open table for us and our kids. Choplin's has always been one of our favorites. I was surprised when then greeted us and said “happy anniversary!” I did not put that in my reservation but it was on my open table profile so extra bonus points for being so observant! Kelly was our server, she was fantastic and kind. Food is always on point but like everywhere else the prices are creeping up. Saw the bad reviews on here and I can attest that I have never experienced anything other than excellent food and service. We have been coming here for over 10 years.
We had a reservation for 7:15, we arrived at 7:00,but there was a a long line. We were told that they are not going by reservation, but switched to first come first served. It took 45 minutes to get seated and then another 30 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order. Food was good, but the restaurant management is terrible. Also, some waitresses spent a lot of time at tables where obviously friends of the owner were seated, all of that while we and other guests were waiting for a long time to be served. Very disappointing experience.
Remarkable cuisine did not offset the unacceptable wait time to be seated for a 7PM reservation. Upon arrival the 6:30 reservations were lined up into the parking lot while numerous tables were open inside the restaurant. Excuse given was over booking which makes no sense. While not stated, it appeared there was a significant lack of planning for this high-volume evening. We had to skip our prepaid dessert and champagne in order to make our formal New Year's Eve event elsewhere. If you want a great meal and are in no hurry this is a good place to go but I will avoid weekends and holidays in the future. So sad as this has potential to be five stars in all categories.
Food and service was very good. My main beef is that I decided to try Choplins because they had a good Groupon deal. HOWEVER, when we received our bill it had a random charge for $8.16 for”Groupon”. When I asked the waitress what the charge was for she couldn't explain it and said it was just something they do. I've used Groupons at many establishments including restaurants and I have NEVER had this happen before. As a result, I won't go back as this seems like an unethical practice.
Choplin's is not your cookie cutter high end restaurant, it is a personal experience from start to finish! The staff is professional, warm, charming, on their game at all times. The atmosphere brings me back to some of my favorite restaurants in New York City: it is elegant, warm and relaxing with a touch of home hospitality. The food is absolutely outstanding: from the appetizers to the main entrees, what a treat! We had a fantastic time and will definately be back!
Very slow, inexperienced server. Food was just okay. Atmosphere was fine if you’re looking for formal, borderline pretentious.
The service was excellent and they did a great job supporting our large number of guests. They were great with a kid-friendly option as well! Open table has them listed as an Italian restaurant although they do not serve pasta dishes.

We ate at Choplin's last night. We had the lamb lollipops (delicious and plentiful), the seabass (a little on the fishy side but pretty good still; and an odd shape for seabass – rectangular!?), and the lobster bisque (no chunks of lobster but overall delicious). The wine list was good for by-the-bottle selection, but very limited in by-the-glass selection. Only two Chardonnays and two Cabernets. The overarching disappointment was definitely the service. (I won't give her name because this wasn't entirely her fault.) The girl was nervous and skittish and knew nothing about the food menu or wine or beer selection. Every time we asked for something, she left and had to ask someone else. But she was very sweet and she did seem to try her best. Our complaint is that, for a restaurant of this caliber, ambience, and price point, stellar service is expected. This poor girl told us she had only been there three weeks, and I doubt she had ever been a waitress before. They should not have sent her out on the floor on her own until she was fully trained. That was bad management there. I doubt we'll go back.
Went to this restaurant for the 1st time for our anniversary. Unfortunately, our server was new and checked on us 3 times within an 1hrs time while other tables were attended at least 8 times (I counted). A restaurant charging these prices should have a waiter supervising a trainee to ensure proper service. Bread basket took 15 min to receive and my soup was cold by the time I got to the bread. Quality of chicken and filet mignon were mediocre. Flavor was at point with all dishes. I asked for old fashion with large ice cube and instead of asking me if small ice cubes were fine because they were out of LG ice cubes, I received crushed iced old fashion. I guess we'll continue going to 131 main were food and service are ALWAYS consistent.
I was there for one hour and five minutes before my entrée order was taken. The price of the food for the quality is terrible.
This was our 3rd trip but will honestly probably be our last. First of all, the food is always perfect, which is why we keep coming back to give it another try. But, the service has just been awful. 3 times we have been there and we have had to wait for a waiter/waitress for at least 15 minutes after sitting down. No waters, no drink orders, nothing. One time I had to find the manager just to be waited in. Last night, we waited over 20 minutes for water and 30 minutes for our drink. Then had to wave our waiter down for our second drink which didn't come until we were almost done with our meals. For such an expensive meal, I would expect better service.
I made us reservations and noted that it was for our 40th wedding anniversary. When we arrived there was a special table waiting for us. Covered with rose petals, as well as flowers in a vase and a beautiful lamp. The couch seat included plush pillows for a very more comfortable space and made us feel very special. The food as always was prepared perfectly, arrived at our table hot and beautifully arranged. We ended our meal with a slice of cheese cake. When it arrived it came with a candle that shot out sparkles. Such a nice touch for our celebration.
