Should have turned twinkly lights on to better the vibe. I had a fantastic time with my friends and their dirty quilt.

Great food and drink. The acoustics suck way too loud in there. You can’t even talk.

Had so much fun here for st. Pattys day! Our server Lynn went above and beyond! Great personality and very attentive. Even with the place packed with people it only took a few mins for my drink and less than 10 for my food! I’m Super impressed and will be back soon to have Lynn serve us! Thank you!!!

Was not impressed! Uncomfortable seating, food was not very good to say the least. Disappointed after reading some good reviews.

We had the best waitress/bartender, Peyton Lynch, at Ed’s last night. Even though she was busy she was very attentive. My favorite is the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich in a wrap! They have fresh salads, the large pretzel is the best in town, and the popcorn chicken is a great starter to share. Don’t forget half off wine night on Wednesday’s and other nightly drink specials. GO TO ED’S!

The food and service are better than any other sports pub in town. The atmosphere is fun and they have nightly drink specials. Our favorite waitress/bartender is Peyton Lynch - go see her!

3.5 stars, rounding up. I tried Ed's Tavern one afternoon for lunch with some friends. The interior is much brighter than Galway Hooker, but it has also lost some of its charm. The owners did keep the fireplace, as well as the stained glass on the doors heading out to the patio, however. It was kind of dead inside, with just a few other tables filled. I'm not much of a bar food person, but I was impressed with the food from Ed's. (I've never been to their Charlotte location.) They offer their full menu, plus two daily $10 specials for lunch. We started with an order of onion rings for the table, which were crispy and very good. I had the ham and cheese lunch special (with my choice of pimento cheese) and a cup of their daily soup, the tomato bisque. Chili is also an option, if you prefer. The ham and cheese sandwich was nicely grilled and buttery. Their pimento cheese was especially good. It was primarily cream cheese-based--rather than mayonnaise--and was nicely warmed. The ham was also not the usual deli ham. It was sliced from a ham, so the pieces were thicker but yet very tender. The soup was rich, creamy, and delicious. One friend also got the ham and cheese special, and another got the Nashville hot chicken breast sandwich with a side of cucumbers. Another got the other daily special, the Peruvian chicken (tender) bake. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was attentive, but it did take longer than expected to get our meals, so the kitchen might have been understaffed. That was a little surprising, given how few tables were filled. Regardless, we enjoyed our lunch, and I'll likely return. Lunch is an especially good deal, especially if you get one of their specials.

Loud. Small. Ridiculous French dip sandwich. My sandwich was half a sandwich. On the right was a little bit for meat, 80% bread. I easily moved the little bit of steak over to the left and BOOM, half a sandwich at the full price of one. Yes, I'm grabbing something to eat on the way home because I'm hungry af. One and done with this joint.

Nope. Just like every other bar but with 0 character. Bring back galway hooker. Had character and the food was great.

The food was ok and the service was good, but so loud you couldn't even hear people at your own table.

Our first time here and they have some things to work out still. Our food was below average for a sports bar. We ordered tots they came out hot and sweet potato fries came out cold. Beer was at a good price. I had wings. - Average. Tried a sample of the housemade Chili (yuck). My wife did like her quesadilla. The security guy had his head down playing with his phone the whole time. Management will need to address that for sure. The remodeled looked nice with a bigger bar. We will give it another try but it will be in several weeks hoping they read reviews and make changes.
