This place is phenomenal. My oldest friend recommended this place to me and I decided to use it for my proposal dinner. I made reservations on Resy and made a note about the special occasion. My fiancee and I were seated at an intimate 2-person table next to the bar. A dry ice aromatic cocktail was set at the table along with 2 glasses of complimentary prosecco to toast our engagement. I'm sure the wait staff is excellent to the last person, but we were made to feel like we were the only table our waitress was tending for having our special dinner there.
My fiancee ordered the filet and I got the elk steak, both cooked rare. I've not had a steak that was cooked so perfectly ever at a restaurant. I find that steak tends to come out over done by one temperature, but not here. We asked for rare and it was perfect. Both our dishes were excellent, but it was the quality of the meat that really stood out.
We will definitely be coming back for any occasion we can justify it. I hear the bartender is a wizard; more to follow.

We had a wonderful time sitting at the bar with friends. Dinner was phenomenal, and the drinks Josh made were equally fantastic! Do not skip the desserts!

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and their bartenders are amazing at crafting unique and phenomenal drinks! Highly recommend this as a date night spot, or sitting at the bar is our favorite.

My wife and I stopped in for a cocktail and appetizer after the Davidson parade. It was just getting dark and we elected to sit out by the fire pit. That was a good idea as it was getting cool and the pit was great. Our server Joe handled everything well. He described the offerings and we selected the Pig Candy appetizer and drinks. The food was delicious and drinks also. We had been told by our son that the food and cocktails were good but on the expensive side. The prices are high end but not over the top. My only bad impression was my $18 bourbon drink came in a normal sized glass but the ice was a single cube that took up nearly all the glass. A couple sips was it. We might go back but I'll have a beer next time.

Always a fantastic dinner and experience at Barrel & Fork. We had Matthew M as our waiter and he was attentive to the T with personality. We enjoyed the wines with calamari, apple salad, scallops, bison steak and chocolate flourless cake for dessert. Good staple restaurant in the area to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. We didn’t get the bourbon this time but usually a hit with the flights. Sorry no photos we ate to quickly.

First time visiting.....it was my friend's birthday. What a beautiful establishment....the ambiance is amazing...the good was outstanding but our server, Ashley, made this a spectacular evening. My friends and I are from New Jersey...Ashley is from New Jersey...we laughed so hard about all the things we miss from home and the conversation was heartwarming and sincere. Ashley, we will be back and I hope it will be a day that you are working so we can connect again. Tell your boss/bosses you are a tremendous asset to their family. Thank you from my heart 🥰

Pretty good food, underwhelming service / dining experience. Little over priced for the quality / atmosphere.
Went here for a 30th birthday celebration
Made reservation weeks out
- 6:45 reservation, sat at 7:15. Manager didn’t apologize or say anything about it. Waiter said “yeah it’s a small building, sometimes happens”
- asked to not sit in the bar area, said only thing available
- chacuterie was amazing and good value
-calamari was OK
- short rib was OK, massive portion, but too salty and not much flavor
- truffle fries were nothing special, not bad
- Old fashion was great

One of my favorite restaurants of all time! Love the cozy, 1920s house setting, the impeccable service, fantastic food and one-of-kind cocktails. Get the charcuterie board at the bar or for your table’s appetizer to share or the baked Brie. Best Manhattans!

My husband and I have been to Barrel & Fork twice now— once in June for my birthday and again last night with our in-laws who were in town visiting.
Our first visit was spectacular, the veal parmesan was a highlight and the service was great on the porch. Our waitress even did a great job bringing out some celebratory extras for my birthday.
Last night, however, despite the main course being good, the appetizer course left something to be desired. We ordered the honeycrisp apple salad and the pasta of the moment (which was tagliatelle with elk) for the four of us to share and the salad portion was so small that we almost thought that the staff had split it for each of us prior to bringing it out. And, even if it had been split, it would have still been a small portion. Same scenario with the pasta, we each got about one or two handmade noodles. I wish I had taken a photo of it to attach to this review but it was gone so quickly there wasn’t time to snap a picture.
The service was fine, our waiter seemed to be a bit frazzled which took away from the experience a little.
All and all, given the price point, we likely will not be coming back. We can certainly justify paying more for an elevated experience, both culinary and service-wise, but felt that our experience last night was just not up to standard for either.

Dinner with family in town. Server was knowledgeable and helpful. Selections of both drinks and food were unique and intriguing. Everything was delicious and beautifully served. Highly recommended!
First time at Barrel and Fork. Wife and I were there for our 43rd anniversary. Our server Chris was very attentive and took good care of us. We both ordered a Cesar salad, which in our opinion was on the smaller side, and just ok. Before our main course came, we asked for some bread, and we're told they don't offer any bread at all. We were disappointed there wasn't any bread. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and we're delicious. All in all, it was a good experience, but, we didn't think the cost justified the experience. We were brought this for our anniversary.
