Harp and Crown LKN

This place has made huge improvements over the last few months. Spent a fun St. Patricks day weekend here and had great staff, delicious food, and amazing entertainment. Harp and Crown is the new place to be!

I arrived to have a nice quiet dinner and was greeted by a hostess. I asked if there was going to be a fire in the fireplace tonight. She said she didn’t know, then Doug abruptly barks “there will be no fire tonight!” It was quite shocking on a very cool evening, I planned to enjoy dinner fireside and was approached so rudely. The server was kind and advised me Doug “wasn’t happy with staffing issues.” In the past my family usually dines here since we live in the peninsula, but that won’t be a future consideration. I trust the owner sees this message and directs appropriate coaching and counseling to Doug, because first impressions are lasting impressions.

The Harp & Crown LKN in Cornelius is a true gem, bringing an authentic Irish and English pub experience to our community. The food is outstanding, especially the generations-old Shepherd’s Pie recipe straight from Ireland. Other must-tries include the Bangers and Mash, crispy Fish and Chips, Irish Meatloaf with sherry cabbage, the Ripper Burger, and their amazing Spinach and Artichoke Dip. They also pour the best pint of Guinness in town and have an impressive selection of imported beers and weekly drink specials.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff makes every visit unforgettable. Bartenders Alexys, Bethany, Tiffany, Savanna, and Rob are simply the best, and the servers are just as friendly and attentive. Ella and Ryan, the management team, go above and beyond to create a welcoming space that feels like home.

With talk of new ownership, it’s exciting to see how this beloved spot will continue to grow. If you’re looking for great food, excellent drinks, and unmatched service, The Harp & Crown is the place to be!

This place is bigger than I expected. They have a fairly large outside area with a second bar. There is definitely an English pub vibe here.Plenty of wood accents and nice bar.

I had one of the burgers(Jack the Ripper). It is a "smash" style burger. Not bad. I did like the fries. I would recommend getting them extra crispy. Even with that, they seemed a bit soft.

Service was pretty good. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time.
I would go back to try other menu items. Specially I would like to try the Roast Beef Hash.

Upon arrival we were given a 20 minute wait. We got a few drinks at the bar outside to which the bartender was great. After our wait the hostess sat us. We sat at the table for about 30 minutes before a server, Brooke, from a different section asked if we had been helped yet to which we said no. Brooke immediately said she was going to be taking our table on top of her 14 top and two 8 top tables. Our original server never approached the table nor did anyone else ever apologize for our wait. Brooke was absolutely AMAZING and got our food and drinks out so fast! Would come back again for the food AND for this server! BROOKE changed our entire experience around. Thank you!

We used to go to Harp and Crown weekly if not more often. Hadn’t been in a bit. Went today for breakfast. Never been so disappointed ever. We had to go find our own condiments and salt and pepper. It took over 20 mins to be given a side of ranch and sauerkraut. Our bacon never arrived. Had to ask for Mac and cheese three times before they brought it out. (Meanwhile the original order was Mac n cheese and they sent wrong food. Never were asked about refills for drinks. Called manager over. He briefly listened and said he would be right back and never returned as he was too busy chatting with staff whom also were not doing their jobs. Food was good after 45 mins of waiting for most of it to arrive (item by item…) will never darken their door ever. Much much better place before Tina and Chris sold it. Bring the old place back.
