We recently returned to Agave Roja in Corolla, North Carolina after visiting two years ago. What made this visit extra special was that we had the same waiter as last time, Ramerio. He joked around and told us he considers us family now, which made the whole experience feel warm and personal. Ramerio was in our photo from 2023 and then again this year! The food is still just as good as we remembered, and the salsa was especially fresh and flavorful. It's a good restaurant.

They were short-staffed, but the service was awful, staff was extremely rude, and we ended up leaving after 1.5 hours of waiting for a to-go order that never came out. I’m sure people like this place, but never again based on the fact that they’re okay treating customers like garbage.

Great food and what an absolutely amazing staff and management. We had a blast while eating some great food. Highly recommend. Small menu that they do amazingly. The staff are a lot of fun and very open to making recommendations and accommodating.

From the fresh guacamole, to street corn to the pork shank all meals did not disappoint!
Coupled with a great (and patient waiter) like Ramiro who tirelessly explained food options and best dishes to eat.
We will definitely eat here again…and again. Thanks for the great meal and making a made from scratch strawberry fruit cake for my birthday! It’s great to see and experience a restaurant that still delivers!

We had a table of 10 people. Our waiter Romero was attentive, friendly, and went the extra mile on everything. His food recommendations were perfect and this service equally so. We had a variety of dishes and apps. The Guac and Salsa to start were great as well! One of our new favorite places in corolla!

Good food, good corn tortillas as a gluten free option. Impossible chicken was a little chewy, maybe ask if they could fry it. Huge margaritas. No wait on a Tuesday night with 13 people. Kids all got chick tenders and mac.

Visiting from out of town. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional! Started off with a cucumber tequila margita, it was delicious so I had a second later. We ordered the guacamole and queso, the single serving was big enough to share between two people, both were very good. For entrees we ordered the Colorado enchiladas and the Carne asada burrito. The meat on both entrees was tender and expertly prepared! The sauce drizzled on top paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. Would recommend and would definitely return on another trip!

I had the salmon which was very good, and I can say on good authority that the enchiladas are also very good. Great service (he was very friendly) and the margaritas were also some of the best in the Outer Banks, especially the watermelon. Will definitely come back if we vacation here again (shocked we didn’t come here before!)
