"I recently visited Duck Donuts and had an amazing experience! The customer service was exceptional, with friendly staff who were attentive and quick to help. Despite it being a busy time, the line moved incredibly fast, and I had my delicious, freshly-made donuts in no time. Highly recommend this place for both the tasty treats and the excellent service!"

An OBX staple experience. You need to go at least once just to say you went.

THE OG!! Like many Ohioans I have loved getting Duck Donuts for years while being on vacation. Thankfully they opened locations near me, but there’s still nothing like the original locations I’ve gone to since I was a kid. Thanks Duck Donuts for always providing delicious donuts efficiently and happily for the visitors of the OBX. You guys make it look easy and probably deal with a lot

We ordered the breakfast dozen online. The donuts were yummy. The breakfast themed donuts were all good flavors.

I’ve been to Duck Donuts up north before, but this was our first one down in NC. We were not surprised how good the donuts were. They’re so good fresh, so it’s worth the extra couple of bucks. Since lines are long and it takes a long time to arrange for custom orders, they offered several prearranged boxes. The bacon maple one is amazing and is highly recommended! The Oreo one was also a bit hit with the kids. Definitely worth the wait and cost!

We went on a Wednesday morning at 8:45am. We waited 45 minutes on line, just to order and pay. When we were afraid it would be another hour to have them actually make our donuts, we gave up, gave our paid ticket to another customer to enjoy, and left. I suggest they figure out how to have their employees be more efficient or find new ones.

We’ve been coming here every summer for ten years and have always loved Duck Donuts. This year something has really changed and is sad. The staff was so rude we were shocked. The woman who took our order appeared angry and when she messed up our coffee order, gave us the wrong cups, and admonished us for “touching” the cups she handed to us. It seemed like chaos behind the register.
It used to be so organized with ordering done inside but everyone waited outside for their number to be called. It was impressive how well the shop was run. They had a system. This time the shop was overcrowded with people waiting inside rather than outside for the donuts so it was nearly impossible to order. You couldn’t tell where the line began. The staff appeared unhappy. Sad because it used to be a fun experience the kids loved. Super disappointing vibe.
However…the Donuts were still great:)

Line moved quick. Had to split the order so it would be faster but they charge more. You get penalized if you order more.

The donuts at Duck Donuts in Corolla were hot and fresh, and I could actually watch them make my order. With a ton of coatings, toppings, and drizzles, the combinations are plentiful. I ordered a random dozen, and they were a hit!
The customer service was great. There were 10 people actively working hard, helping each other out, checking guests out, making donuts, and bringing out completed orders. It was top-notch.
I arrived at 9:00 AM, and 13 people (5 groups) were in line outside. I walked in at 9:07, and there were another dozen folks in line. At 9:16, I reached the front of the line, and they took my order. At 9:23, they brought out my latte. At 9:52, my order was ready. The wait was long, but it was due to it being exceptionally busy and ‘made to order.’ All employees were working, and there was no capacity to add more people. They were thorough, efficient, and managed lines as quickly as possible. Any reviews solely based on time are not fair, as they do not consider the nature of the business. It’s going to take a long time. My experience was that the staff was great and working hard, so if they had issues with that in the past like other reviews mentioned, they have fixed this issue.
My suggestion is that they do a better job managing the communication of wait times. Letting their customers know the average wait time while checking out, maybe having a text system like many restaurants have for seating, or having an outdoor monitor that shows order progress could all help manage that communication and minimize any negative impacts on wait time.

The worst Duck Donuts in OBX. They rush things and the icing melts off. The guy who hands the donuts out tips the boxes and they mash into each other. When they have a 45 minute to an hour wait, they don't tell you until after you pay.
There is nothing quite like Duck Donuts. If you’re in the OBX you can’t do it all, but you can’t miss Duck Donuts.

Not worth the wait, waited over an hour 15 minutes. I swear the numbers are picked a random, to me they seem unorganized

An hour and fifteen minute wait ordering in person, despite a line only 10 deep. Tons of huge online orders went ahead of us. Really feel we should have been warned how backed up they were. Unacceptable wait time.
