We are long time once a year patrons of First Light. This mornings breakfast was terrible. The frozen potatoes were awful. We miss the old potatoes and onions they used to have. No country ham! Eggs Benedict was cold and the hollandaise was terrible. Scrambled eggs were fake. We won’t be back ! Very disappointing!
Delicious food ! Loved it.

Tasty food with really generous portions! We went here for breakfast every day we were here for Labor Day weekend.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free bread for folks with an intolerance. However, the waiter let me know that it is toasted in the same toaster as gluten bread, so it's not safe for Celiacs and those with allergies. I really appreciated him letting me know that! Luckily, they were cool with giving me extra potatoes since I wasn't getting toast.

Wanted to find a cool legit breakfast spot in Corolla and this was it! Had the Number 2 combo while the Mrs. Had an Eggs Benedict. Food was amazing! Shout out also to the First Light Mimosa which was probably the best mimosa I have had all year!
Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Not what it used to be. Biscuit, raw. Literally uncooked dough. Sausage gravy, thin. Service, surly. Potatoes, mushy. Room, dusty. This was my favorite place. So disappointing.

Sausage and French toast were undercooked. The menu changed and my favorite veggies and tortilla breakfast was sadly left off. My family always loved going each year but we will now have to look for another breakfast option.

I don't usually write reviews but felt the need after today's experience. From ordering food to on the table was about 50 minutes which isn't great but figured its a Saturday it happens. The bigger issue was when the food came out it was swimming in grease and the home fries were very far from what I would say most people call home fries. They were essentially whole potatoes cut in half, still raw in the center and not crispy at all. The mixture of slow service, poor food and just generally a not great experience.

Our waitress wasn't very accommodating or polite. I work in customer service, so I hardly ever leave bad reviews, but I was very disappointed in how we were treated and I'm seeing a lot of similar experiences in other reviews. The food was fine, but there were extremely limited options and no room for modifications. After we paid, two staff members stood at the table beside us watching over us, waiting for us to leave to clean the table. Which, i totally understand wanting to get it cleaned up! But we just felt weird having them stand so close, leering over us, pressuring us to leave. The atmosphere just felt very hostile and the waitress treated us at an inconvenience. I would not recommend!

My group of seven adults stumbled upon First Light Restaurant in Carolla, North Carolina after arriving hours before our vacation spot check-in. We were pleasantly surprised by the quick seating on the outside deck, where we could enjoy our meal alongside our furry friend, who was treated to a refreshing dog bowl of water.
The diverse menu items catered to all our cravings, and my personal favorite, the Big Meaty breakfast sandwich, was an absolute delight! The flavors were on point, and the portion size was just right.
The friendly staff and the welcoming atmosphere made our dining experience even more enjoyable. I appreciate the accommodating service and the pet-friendly policy of the restaurant.
I can confidently say that I would love to visit First Light Restaurant again on my next trip to the Outer Banks. Highly recommended for a delicious breakfast with a view!

Food is average… we had the number two and sausage gravy biscuits. Home fries are halved, seemingly boiled potatoes. Bacon was cooked well. Sausage gravy left much to be desired. I’ve had better in northern states so I was fairly disappointed. Atmosphere was busy and service was minimal and inattentive. Would definitely check out the Chicken Coop. Much better food and service.
