The driest omlette, under cooked watery grits, luke warm coffee. Its nothing more than an over priced franchise

standard breakfast fair, nothing fancy but that's the ways I prefer it, slightly inflated prices than typical but very good service and everything was cooked as expected so I'm happy to spend the couple extra bucks for the solid experience.

Dining at the bar, tables or outside back area. Food is very good, real maple syrup, noisy, very busy, quick table turnover. Checks the boxes. Some dubious seating spots by the restrooms.

Each visit, frequent patron I must add, I’m greeted warmly and treated with the utmost care. Having a gluten allergy, my mind is always put at ease and of course the food is delicious!

Five stars for the managment, kitchen staff, and great food that saved my wedding!
I was supposed to get married in Asheville on September 28th but Mother Nature had other plans. Due to what can only be described as a series of miracles, we were able to leave the home we were staying in and the western part of the state. Feeling lucky, grateful and very humbled by the devastation witnessed, we decided to continue with our plans to tie the knot.
My Dad arrived at opening on Sunday September 29th and shared our story with Brent. Brent immediately jumped into action creating a menu of sandwiches and sides to feed our guests. The food was absolutely delicious. While I imagine it wasn’t easy for the staff to pull this together on a weekend morning with such short notice, I am so appreciative of their kindness and generosity.
Thank you, Famous Toastery Davidson Team.

I normally love this place. Today was not great. We waited 25 minutes to get seated. No problem there. It's Sunday and always busy. After getting seated we ordered our beverages and water. The water had an awful chlorine taste so I didn't drink it. The Pumpkin spice coffee was very weak. After waiting 45 minutes our food came. No utensils on the table so we had to flag someone down to get us some. I ordered the breakfast bowl with sausage and biscuit gravy. Mine was cold and my English muffin was not toasted. My husband wanted me to send it back but I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for food and just ate a cold breakfast. Once we ordered we never saw our waitress again. I will think twice about returning!

I would give it a five stars. But the last time I went, the food was terrible, and my sauce was split, the toast was burnt, and the service was really bad. Usually food is very good, but this experience was very bad so I will never go back again!
Dietary restrictions: Ok options.

If you want to treat yourself to a posh breakfast, this is the place. It's the original location of this small regional chain. It's in a historic building in the heart of charming downtown Davidson across from the college. The breakfast potatoes are great. I also recommend the gluten free waffle. I believe they still bring you free cornbread if you ask. Everything is good really. You will pay for the food and the setting, but you are getting a first-class breakfast experience in one of the best settings for breakfast I've found in the state, maybe the best. Service is mostly good, though there can be a wait when it's very crowded, which there typically is on Saturday mornings.

I feel like the Famous Toastery has lost their way. I have eaten there 100+ times and have watched it slide over 5 years. They are so focused on growth and becoming “Wall Street viable” that pricing just continues to go up and food quantities continue to go down. It’s disappointing. $4 for a coffee or tea is a little crazy. Tough to get out of there for breakfast for two (with tip) for less than $40+. The staff still does a very nice job - but this place has definitely lost a bit of its hometown magic.

Just got a reuben from them.. horrible... nothing but shredded fat.. I normally eat at the one in Mooresville and it's always amazing.. I ordered through uber, so I didn't realize it was coming from the one in Davidson.. I would not recommend this at all.. the pesto pasta salad was great, ate all of it... but as u can tell from the pictures, most the meat was all fat and I didn't even eat it or the other half of the sandwich... what a waste for the price
