Il Bosco continues to be a great experience with good ambiance, wine selection, food and service. Their pasta carbonara was not on the menu but the gnocchi was equally delectable. A neat little gem in Davidson.

Amazing! Picked this restaurant mainly on location and hours because we were in area. Totally exceeded expectations. Had a bottle of valpolicella based on owners recommendation. Excellent! Had the pork belly appetizer—very good! And I’m not really a pork belly person. Our main courses were the lamb and pea gnocchi (my absolute favorite!!) and hangar steak (also excellent). Had bread brought before meal (the reviewers who complained about the amount of bread — what did they want — an entire loaf of bread??!!). There was plenty, and then we were served another savory bread with the meal. For dessert we shared the very rich and delicious chocolate torte. Totally loved our experience and will definitely come back. I don’t know where the negative reviews came from—definitely not our experience at all. Service wha polite, gracious and attentive. And we dine worldwide including Michelin starred restaurants. Be advised some nights are reservation only, so don’t expect to walk in even if they don’t look busy. Definitely worth planning ahead.

Researched this place and it was consider fancy and authentic. Took my dad here for his birthday and wow….food is disgusting and bland. My dad probably thinks I’m the worst son ever. Thanks for making my dad’s birthday memorable! I will never come here again.

LENGTHY BUT PLS. READ.Worst meal I had in a long time. Nothing Italian about it. Wild Boar, Kangaroo, etc. Salad without dressing. In my despair, I ordered Tortellini. They came, just Tortellini with a few pears and a little whipping cream sauce. They were store bought and rock hard. To be polite in the company I ate a few. I let my friend try....yikesWhen the owner made his rounds I asked him over to point this out. He was unbelievably rude, and told me I should have told him BEFORE I started to eat. THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME.Well and there is nothing that gets me and my friends into his restaurant again, ever.

AWFUL. Bread to start was 5 pieces cut like Fondue pieces with two pieces of butter. I had some kind of veal rolled up like a cigar stuffed with who knows what and served burnt. Fettuccini Bolognaise just OK. First and last time was hoping for authentic Italian but got not even close.

This is a truly authentic Italian restaurant. Our meal was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. The Ossobuco was superb. Warm winter carrot & beet salad was excellent as well. If you enjoy real, authentic Italian cuisine, I highly recommend Il Bosco. Reservations recommended.

Amazing gem of an Italian Restaurant. The service is great, the staff are polite and professional, and the food is fantastic. It’s difficult to find a place that makes actual Italian food in Charlotte. Most are just Americanized versions. Il Bosco however, delivers. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine.

Service was excellent. Food was satisfactory. We arrived at 4/14/23 5pm for a 5:15 reservation. Stepped inside and the smell of cleaner / disinfectant was overwhelming. We asked the hostess about the smell, and she gave a snarky reply that 'well, the lady just mopped the floor'. As if we were being unreasonable for expecting fresh air during dinner.

We found Il Bosco online while visiting. Made a last minute reservation. My husband had the elk and I had fettuccine. Both were delicious and full of flavor. Excellent service.
