Coach's Neighborhood Grill Dobson

We stop at Coaches evert year in Aug on our way from Pittsburgh Pa to Charleston SC and every time we stop, Sally has been our waitress...She is excellent at her job..and basically runs a one woman show: she seated us as a hostess, then waited on us as a waitress, then served us and then took our bill for payment! I even asked her if she was an owner of the business because she was so involved and she told me she wasn't....the woman deserves a big raise to keep her supporting the restaurant the way she does. KUDOS TO SALLY

While I was doing a little traveling around the smoky and blue mountains this was hands down my favorite restaurant. My server Sally was a sweetheart. I sat out on the porch and you could see the entire staff was one large family. The whole experience was amazing, so welcoming, you most certainly didn’t feel like a tourist at all. The food was wonderful and I didn’t expect the home cooked feel from a sports bar. I recommend stopping in if you want a realistic small town experience with wonderful food. Ask for Sally she was a pleasure you had no idea how busy she was and you felt like her only table. She anticipated your every need for the table and you wanted for nothing. Greatly appreciated relaxing evening!

Recently I traveled through Dobson, NC along that travel my family and I ate Coach's. We had a wonderful meal, everything was cooked just as we ordered it and the wait staff was engaging, prompt and very friendly. One of the worker's by the name of Sally was absolutely amazing, definitely deserving of individual recognition. Thank you Coach's Staff for a wonderful meal and great service after a long day of traveling.

Came by on a Thursday night around 8:00pm. The restaurant was not busy at all. Waiting to be seated and no one ever came to sit is so we just left. Not good customer service at all.

First off servers are way too busy on the patio smoking, the kitchen crew see you coming in and no one seats you for a little bit… because the servers are outside smoking. The steak was tough, the Broccoli and cheese was watery very watery. The mac & cheese was kind of soupy. They’re not allowed to serve alcohol servers disappear to go back outside and smoke. I really got the impression that I was inconveniencing her from smoking.

Fantastic homemade food. In the past, I had their amazing turkey burger with avocado, but they no longer have that. I do t eat red meat, so I selected the fish bites meal with homecut chips, and roasted corn. YUM! The fish is handcut filets into bite sized pieces, then sits in a bath if their homemade hot sauce, and then battered and fried the day of serving. The chips were perfect for me. You wont break a tooth- instead they are light and just right! Ok, now for the corn. This was roasted corn on the cob, frozen for future use, then steamed with butter and their own seasonings. You can tell. I grew up in corn country and I knew immediately that this was a quality product. We are out of season, so my expectations were not high, but what a great surprise!
Super kind servers. Always friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell that a lot of locals come here, which is always a good sign.
A must stop in Dobson.

Staying at Hampton Imn and we needed a place to order food.. Highly recommend! Staff was very nice and helpful. Food was very good.

We were a party of 6. Four were satisfied 2 were not. We all did agree tho that the prices were overpriced. My steak was medium rare (Ribeye) and I couldn't eat it because it was too chewy and full of bristle and fat. And Had no seasoning no flavor. Very disappointed in my steak. On the other hand my wife ordered the cob salad and we ordered the pretzel bite appetizer and there were good. Downfalls are it's overpriced and steak was very disappointing. I literally had to throw it away because I couldn't chew it

The food was good nothing to write home about, but was something you'd eat again. The tables, shackers for the salt/pepper and hot sauce were a bit tacky or sticky, other than that everything else looked clean.

1st time we visited Coaches in Dobson we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service. We have ordered several meals since that first visit but in the last 3 months the service and quality of food has dropped tremendously. They’ve quit serving certain items, the salads are disappointing especially for the price you pay, the food has been cold or not cooked to preference, the staff was very rude over the phone. Most likely our last time at this location, but the way they act they don’t care.

I ordered takeout because I was staying at the hotel next door. My food was ready on time, hot and as I ordered. The staff was friendly and got me in and out in a timely manner. Would eat here again if in the area. I know it’s a sports bar so to speak but I ordered hamburger steak, broccoli and a house salad and it was delicious. Great job!

Dreadful experience. Was told there would be a wait for food. Lots of empty tables so staff was the issue I guess. So we sat at the bar with menus until we gave up after 15 minutes. No one asked if we wanted anything. Servers came to the bar and completely ignored us. Told the server when we left how rude they were. Absolutely unacceptable.
