I wanted a place to stop for lunch not too far off the interstate, but I didn’t want to stop at a chain restaurant. Sorry Diner was exactly what I was looking for: good food, lower prices, and an ambience that was like stopping at the mom-and-pop diner near where I used to live. I can’t recommend any better if you’re anywhere near exit 93 off I-77 in North Carolina.

8 of us arrived on Friday around 7. We were traveling to HHI. I had prime rib. Absolutely fantastic. Burgers were great also. Hush puppies were good as were the fries.

What a great spot for lunch while traveling. This restaurant is a much better choice than all the chain restaurants that litter the highways. Stopped here while driving my father to FL. Right of the highway, easy off easy on. Food was delicious, cheap and fast! The hospitality was tops. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and he had the Reuben, which was a daily special. Next year we will be sure to stop again!

My wife and I were travelling and spent the night in Dobson, NC. We like to visit small, local, family-owned businesses and restaurants. The Surry Diner was great. The atmosphere was quaint and reminded me of the small local cafés that were prominent in the small farming communities where I grew up in South Dakota. The food was very good and the service great.

Took forever to get a waitress to wait on me. Then they barely wanted to bring you anything, if you needed like a one sauce or something like that. Then I go to check out and the woman at the register rings up. The man behind me and tells me to step by the line, because she just wrung him up before ringing me up. Very rude People don't have no respect for no one I would never go there to eat again and I would not recommend anybody going there
