Oh my goodness! This is a 5 star restaurant 100 ft off the highway!!! I had the steak fajitas, the girls had soft tacos or something like that. We also tried the dips! Guacamole, cheese, Bean, and salsa dip and they were delicious. We absolutely loved the food and the three women running the restaurant were friendly, knowledgeable, and they took great care of us. Several of us are on a bicycle trip across North Carolina. One of the nights we stayed across the street from El Charro grande and we decided to try the place.

This is a place that foodies dream of. This is not a business that spends a lot of its effort on ambience. The 1970s gaudy Mexican decorating just lends authenticity to the family nature of this business.

I love the food, it's an amazing place to get food. My only problem, is that the waitress staff don't pay attention. (At least when I'm there) Every time I go with my family, it's like they forget we're there. One lady took our drink orders but never brought them out ?
