One of our local sushi spots. Food is usually very good. Sometimes hard to get another drink mid-meal. They don't visit the table but once or twice per visit. But the food is good.
Ordered the sushi dinner. It was chefs choice but, I was allowed to request specific sushi. All of it was delicious! Both the sashimi and the Nigiri sushi were generously portioned. Basic faire like miso soup and ginger salad were also exceptional. Prompt service too!
This is by far our favorite sushi place in Durham! We'd been to several and never really found that great spot -- and found many to be overpriced to boot -- and then we found Akashi. The sushi is excellent and the prices can't be beat. It's nothing fancy, but the food is really good, the staff is friendly, and the price is right.
