Great addition to this side of Durham. Fun concept and vibe. Food is well cooked, but leaves more to be desired flavor wise.
Kid-friendliness: Had an early dinner on a weeknight. My 2 under 2 years old got to play with the life-size Connect Four which they enjoyed.
Parking: Lacking.
Definitely give this place a shot, especially if the weather is nice!My wife and I loved the Bulgogi and the dumplings, and it was definitely enough to share. Pretty good beer selection, and a fun atmosphere. Will go again!
Pretty disappointing. This is NOT a beer garden. They had a few bottled beers (e.g., Heineken, Corona, Blue Boon, Stella), nothing on tap. The food was good, but portions were small and expensive.
Such a tasty and creative menu! I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered here, especially the veggie dumplings, crab ragoons, and literally anything involving the pork belly! The vibes are super chill and the entire space is very well-decorated — lots of green space! I definitely recommend supporting this local gem.
What a great experience! The ordering is quick and easy, the food is ridiculously good, and the beer is conveniently self-serve. The (maybe?) owner came out to see if we were enjoying ourselves and we assured her that we ABSOLUTELY were. We tried the pork belly bao buns, the bulgogi bowl, and the soup dumplings. Honestly, my only disappointment is that we were too full to try more of their delicious offerings. We will definitely be back!!
The food here is incredible. Everything we've tried is delicious, filling, and also beautifully plated (even in take out containers!) There is free street parking and picnic tables.
I walked up to food truck parked at bao beer garden and was greeted with smiling faces, exotic food smells and live music. I ordered char-siu chicken wings and crab Rangoon both new to the menu. They came out within 5-10 min even though they were packed. Food was hot and tasty. Check them out
This is a neighborhood gem, tucked into a lot on Mangum St. We had an easy time parking and enjoyed the oasis of the Bao and Beer Garden. The food was tasty, with fresh ingredients, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Give it a try.
Super yummy. The soup dumplings were very tasty! The ambience is awesome--cute beer garden vibes. Will be coming back!
I was out the other night in Durham, just decided to take myself out for the evening and came across this elegant location. I really liked the ambience with the lighting and the flowers as well as the ability to watch the game that was showcased. I approached the food truck and a gentleman named Ray greeted me! He assisted me with placing my order and showed me where I could get my drink and mind you I don't drink alcohol, however for those who do there is that option. I was able to get my sparkling water which was very delightful with my meal. I ordered the Pork Belly Bao and it was absolutely delightful! I especially liked the pickled cabbage on the side and the seasoned fries. The honey hoisin glaze was quite tasty on the Bao. Ray was very knowledgeable and also brought me one of each of the wings to try! They were absolutely delicious. The overall experience was perfect and impeccable service!
